I am 7 weeks pregnant and just announced the news to my sister and my bil. This pregnancy is a long time coming, we waited quite some time before trying and now that we have decided to make the leap we are really excited. We are 32 years old and have been married for 5 years. My sister has a 4 year old and I thought she would be over the moon. She seemed excited for about a 30 second hug and then went onto another thing the topic hardly came up for the rest of the night. Maybe I was expecting too much or I am just hormonal.
Anyways, were any of you disappointed in the reaction when you announced the news?

Is there a difference between buying a home pregnancy test from the dollar store, or any store for a dollar or so, or going to a pharamacy or big chain store and spending 10 - 20 dollars? Just wondering.

All reports home from my son's first-grade teacher indicate that he's a good student, polite, and well behaved. So why is doing homework so much like trying to push a stubborn elephant? The act of getting him through homework is so frustrating to both myself and my spouse that we become almost irrational. We're both fully aware that the behavior is circular: we know that our frustration negatively affects his performance, and that in turn frustrates us all the more, and so on and so on. We also fully recognize that the problem is more with us than with him. We'd just like some tips to help prevent us from getting so frustrated, and keep him on a positive track.

I've read questions like this in this forum before and the answers all tended toward whether or not you're a "good teacher." I consider that irrelevant. We don't need to know how to teach, we need to know how to stop getting frustrated and stop letting our frustration negatively affect our son's attitude toward academics.

I have noticed that over the last day or so that my son's cheek have become very very red, he is also very cranky. He is just about 4 months old. We both just got over a bad cold and now his cheeks, could it be from teething or is he still sick?

I have put some crib toys with her at night so when she wakes up in the morning she has something to play with. Do you think this is bad for her and do you think she gets to much sleep?

I was told that I was pregnant on Jan 9. Since then, I've felt pregnant. Just recently, my body has been feeling really bad. I have these terrible headaches.. and stomach cramps.. However, I dont really feel pregnant, anymore. I keep reading about these "missed miscarriages," but no one ever describes the symptoms that your body experiences before the miscarriage is caught. PLEASE HELP!

Hi. I'm pregnant with my second son, he's due in April! My 2 year old son's full name is Preston Elliot Salvati. My name's Kelli & my husband is Elliot.. So if you could vote between these 3 that'd help us a lot

1) Celab Tillman Salvati
2) James Tillman Salvati
3) Callan Tillman Salvati

growing up my husband was a friend of Pat Tillman (the football player turned soldier) so our boy's middle name is after him. Thanks for your votes

My Dr. wants to stretch my cervix tomorrow so that she can break my water. I'm only 1cm dilated so far, been that way for over 2 weeks, I'm at 40 weeks now, due on Saturday. Dr. wants to induce me because I live almost an hour from the hospital and she doesn't want me going into labor and delivering on the highway as this is my 3rd baby and she expects labor and delivery to be quick. My question is has anyone else ever had their cervix stretched, and if so, how painful was it. It's funny, but I'm more afraid of that than actual labor I think. My pelvic exams are painful enough, so I'm afraid this is really going to hurt.

At the beginning of the year, someone told me to talk 2 pills of my birth control a day ( ortho tri-cycle low ) until I caught up.

I did that for about 4 days so I took 8 pills in 4 days.

ANYWAY, After I did this one of my friends told me that they did it to and started bleeding for 2 weeks. I did the SAME thing and started bleeding for 2 weeks in the middle of Januray.

My question is

I start my period at the beginning of every month, but i didn't this month!

When i was bleeding in the middle of the month ( because of the pills ) did that count as my period or just a cause because i was taking the pills?

Just curious because Im sexual active and my fiance says he thinks I look like I have a bump.

when your 6-11 year old daughter is raped by a full grown man and he deosn't care how small her body is he gets in all the way and doesn't care if you walk in while is has sex with her?

My 3 year old daughter was screened at pre-school today and it has been discovered that she has a hearing loss.

Children her age should be able to hear noises/voices as low as 25 decibles.

She couldn't hear anything under 40 decibles.

She was screened at birth, and had no problems with her hearing then.

She hasn't been screened since because her speech is excellent if better then kids her age. Although she has trouble with certian words or sounds, which everyone thought was ok for her age.

I had noticed that over the last year she said "what?" and "huh?" a lot but I thought it was our fault for not speaking loud enough or clear enough for her.

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or similar experience.

What percentage of hearing loss is this?

I can't get her into her doctor till the 26th of this month for another screening, and they won't answer any questions because they have not screened her yet.

I am kind of at a loss here.

HELP!

I'm not prejudiced against blacks or Jewish people or anything crazy, I'm prejudiced against Gothic and Emo people.

There are a few in my class that I have come to know (they were the first Goths and Emo kids I ever met) and I don't like their attitude or choice of clothing color.

I see Gothic and Emo kids walking around town scowling like the world is a horrible place and wearing all black, I'm naturally mad at them.

Normally being prejudiced is judging people by a stereotype, but all Gothic people act the same, right? They wear black, listen to screamy music, and have negative and bad attitudes toward authority and others.

Am I wrong in thinking this? How can I overcome it if it is wrong?
