Is there a difference between buying a home pregnancy test from the dollar store, or any store for a dollar or so, or going to a pharamacy or big chain store and spending 10 - 20 dollars? Just wondering.

absolutely not.

When I thought I was pregnant, I went and bought two tests from the dollar tree. It was only two dollars and I wanted to make sure.

I tested close to evening and they both came out clear as day that I was pregnant.

Try one, you only waste a dollar if it doesn't work

I work at a Dollar Store and from my personal experience the Dollar Store brand works just as well as the name brand. If you're pregnant either one will work. I've had many people buy the $1 pregnancy test and if it is positive they just buy a couple more and chances are they will all be the same and you still get out spending less than if you bought the name brand.

I've tried the cheap ones (not the dollar ones but still...) and the expenisive First Response whatever. They are made to do the same thing but First Response/EPT etc...detect the hCG horomone earlier than the cheap ones. So if you wat to wait a little bit , go ahead with the cheap ones. But if you need to know, like yesterday, get the expensive ones.

Side note: there are two packs of a lot of brands because there is the possibility of testing too early. This is cheaper in the long run.

Nope no difference. When I thought i was preggie i got a Family Dollar brand test and it came out positive. I did not believe it so i went to buy a $15 one same thing. so i could have saved money! Long story short...buy the cheap one...it will not lie!

The ones you get at the Dollar store can't detect the early pregnancy hormone and is best to test with your first morning urine. The pricier ones you can test anytime of the day and some as soon as a few days before your missed period.

The only difference is that the less expensive ones are a little bit harder to read, but they are do the same thing which is detect a hormone in urine which is present when you are pregnant.

No but I would still get a second opinion! You can go to a place like Planned Parenthood and get one for free depending on your income.

i dont believe so, the cheap ones work just as well. just if it comes out positive, make sure you do a second one, and then go to the doctor, or a clinic that does it for free to get one done there to confirm
