Hi, I am a nurse. Please do not worry that your being unable to eat well will affect your baby at this early stage. This is because you're in your first trimester and you do not need to eat any extra at this moment. Just eat as per your normal, 2200 calories a day is sufficient. But do make sure you have at least 8 glasses of fluid a day, it's important. I hope that you have visited your gynae for your 1st checkup. I believe he will prescribe folic acid for you and you must take them.
During a sick day management, you may opt for easily digested food that you like (meehoon or kway teow soup, porridge, cereal, milk, yoghurt, any fruits but citrus fruits, vegetables, fish soup). Just eat some and rest well. When you visit a doctor, please let him know that you are pregnant as there are many antibotics that you cannot take. However, you can take normal cough syrup, which the GP will know. If you have phglem, sweet stuffs like honey and citrus fruits should be avoided. Also avoid spicy and dry food, cold drinks, bananas, mangoes, durians.
Only from your 2nd trimester onwards, you have to add an extra 300 calories to your diet, which is not alot of food. Choice 1: 2 thin slices of pork, 1/2 cup cabbage, 1 carrot. Choice 2: 1 container of yoghurt, 1 medium apple. Choice 3: 1-1/2 ounce of salmon steak, 1 cup asparagus, 1 cup lettuce. So meanwhile, please do not get stressed as it will surely not affect your baby at this moment. Take good care and hope you recover soon. If you need someone to talk to, please do not hesitate to email me at lady_general71@yahoo.com.

Now that you're eating for two (or more!), this is not the time to cut calories or go on a diet. In fact, it's just the opposite - you need about 300 extra calories a day, especially later in your pregnancy when your baby grows quickly. If you're very thin or carrying twins, you'll need even more. But if you're overweight, your health care provider may advise that you consume fewer extra calories.
Healthy eating is always important, but especially when you're pregnant. So, it's important to make sure your calories come from nutritious foods so they can contribute to your baby's growth and development.
Try to maintain a well-balanced diet that incorporates the dietary guidelines including:
lean meats
fruits
vegetables
whole-grain breads
low-fat dairy product
By eating a healthy, balanced diet you're more likely to get the nutrients you need. But you will need more of the essential nutrients (especially calcium, iron, and folic acid) than you did before you became pregnant. Your health care provider will prescribe prenatal vitamins to be sure both you and your growing baby are getting enough.
But taking prenatal vitamins doesn't mean you can eat a diet that's completely lacking in nutrients. It's important to remember that you still need to eat well while pregnant. Prenatal vitamins are meant to supplement your diet not be your only source of much-needed nutrients.

it rather is humorous, I had the comparable concern with the scent of fried or frying nutrition. I remember the scent of fried bologna sent me thoroughly exterior the abode it grew to become into so undesirable. Pregnancies could be as distinctive as night and day - you won't get sick in any respect the subsequent time. this is an adventure every time.

Try to eat the best you can. I'm sick from pregnancy in general, and the doctor told me that the baby is getting what it needs from my body, If you start to loose weight, talk to your doctor, and try to eat as much as you can.. Good Luck!
