Pregnancy & Parenting - 31 January 2007

What do you think needs to be done to better educate the youth of today about the consequences and responsibilities of having sex. I think that if more parents educated their children better on sex then there would be less teen pregnancies. Also I think that some of these parents need to spend time with their kids and be there for them. I really wish there was a way that we all could help protect again the ignorance today that our children have towards sex and how to better educate them and let them know what can come of it. I think if more parents kept a closer eye on their kids then this also wouldn't be happening.

I MEAN HOW DOES A 14 YEAR OLD GET PREGNANT SERIOUSLY WHERE ARE THE PARENTS AT???

Ok...heres the deal. I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now, in August I stopped everything, the provera the fertility drugs everything. Well basically if I am not on anything, I will not have a period. Well in December I had one come on ON ITS OWN. But it lasted awhile, so the doc asked me if I would be alright going on a low dose BC just to get me regulated. Remember I am not taking anything as of then. So I said I guess. I mean I want to get pregnant, but I guess I need to get regulated first. So he put me on Yaz about 4 weeks ago, well 3 days ago I was supposed to start and didnt. So I just now 1:30pm took a test, one of those dollar store brand, and of course it was negative. My question is why am I not starting like I am supposeed to, and 2ndly why are my boobs so sore. I guess I just have never experienced all this before. Its like I want a baby so bad, but its like it never works out. When I start seeing symptoms I get excited. Anyway what to do. BLAH!!

i had a cervical stitch (cerclage) put in two weeks ago and the only restrictions the dr gave me was "nothing in the vagina" so that means no sex obviously, i have an incompitant cervix which was the reason for the cerclage so i can understand why he wouldnt want anything inserted into the vagina. but i am wondering do you think that means no doing anything that would make me orgasm? sorry if that's an uncomfortable question, i kind of am scared to ask the dr that. i have heard that orgasms can cause the cervix to thin, not sure if this is true or not. anyway if you have any thoughts or suggestions let me know, i wasnt sure/

My step-son comes hme from school with sheets of paper that are his homework. They are usually dirty and wrinkeled. We buy him folders and notebooks, but it doesn't help.
Any ideas how to encourage a kid to be more tidy? He is going on 10.

on the paper my doc gave me all it says is ob care and delivery covered/non covered service acknowledgement...then it says your fee includes and your fee does not include..under where it says your fee does not include it says ultrasounds..they give this to everyone,but i dont know if they eman if u have insurance or medicaid...cause i have medicaid and i always thought it covered us.with my other pregnancies it did. im confused..

My daughter is 14 weeks pregnant.She is 34 and had been on the pill for about 2 years and caught staight away once she stopped taking it.
Someone mentioned to me today that there can be problems as the pill takes a while to get out of your system.
Anyone enlighten me please? This will be her first baby.

my daughter is 2 and half and refuses to eat on her own. She knows how to but just refuses to the point where I have to end up feeding her. I know this is what she whats to do but if its not her favorite foods then she wont eat. I understand she will eat when she is hungry but if she had her way she wouldnt be eating at all. Yesterday I went to my doctor and instead of doing blood work first they did an ultrasound. On the ultrasound they saw nothing except something round in my ovary. They began getting worried because they thought maybe it was an ectopic pregnancy. However, my blood work came back with 958 as the HCG. I asked and they said that it may be just too soon to see anything...has anyone else had this happen to them? Is 958 a bad number to have? The first day of my last period was Dec 20, 06. I couldn't be more than a few weeks along...should I be afraid something is wrong? I'm not bleeding or in severe pain just achey and tired.

my 14 year old has a lot of anger an she gets angery and takes it out on everyone around her what should i do i have tried grounding her she is adha and she is really a good kid but when the adhd kicks in i can not control her . she has even gotten violent tword me and my husband she was on meds but they did not help.

Yesterday I took my first pregnancy test after a month of TTC. It came out positive! So then I took the other one b/c i was in such shock.... another positive! and then this morning i took yet another test and it was ... Positive! ok so i get it im pregnant. i went to my doctors this morning and the really didnt do anything but talk to me and refur me to an ob/gyn. she also gave me a script to go get my blood taken for 100% certainty and a urine and some other test? they took 3 or 4 vials of blood! just wanted to know whats next now ladies? and also i DO have insurance but i have a 500 deductable so how $$$ was this blood and urine test? any help?

You know it really angers me at the number of teens that are intentionally trying to get pregnant by either tricking a guy into it, or just being selfish and thinking a baby would be fun and not thinking of how much of a responsibility it is to raise a child. I mean look at all of the couples who would love to have a child and then you see all of these irresponsible young teen-aged and even pre teen-aged girls getting pregnant because of entrapment or negligence. This really disturbs me because I don't think that people who are having kids for all the wrong reasons should be blessed like they are and the people who do deserve a child can't have one. Ugh this really does annoy the hell out of me
