Most doctor's want to wait until you are at least 8 weeks, some wait until the end of your first trimester. I would go ahead and call to schedule the appointment. Congrats!

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy and have always been advised to book a appointment as soon as that test reads pos ! they then check that you are taking all the correct vitamins for your stage of preg and do a pelvic exam. They will also go over your dates and give you a approx due date, then your doc will write off to the hospital and make an appointment for a dating scan going off your estimated gestation this usually happens around 12 weeks then at this appointment they will give you an actual due date and tell you how many weeks pregnant you are.
good luck and congrats xx
mum of 2 and 39 +2 pregnant.

When I went I was 8 weeks. The Dr said she didn't like to see anybody before that time. Just call and ask them when you should go and schedule the appointment accordingly. Great to hear you are taking the pre-natals already! Good luck!
27 weeks with my first!

Immediately after taking a home test, you should go in and take a test for confirmation at the clinic. Then they'll have you set up your first appointment. It's usually at 12 weeks, but my clinic does a medical history appointment between 6 and 8, so sometimes you go in early and at 12 weeks, depending on your facilities policies.

as soon as i found out i was pregnant (roughly 4 weeks) i called my doctor and they scheduled me for that day. they confirmed the test and he checked me then gave me some over the counter pre-natal vitamins and said he would see me again in 2 weeks. i went back in and they did an ultrasound and it detected me at 6 weeks and 2 days. i heard the heart beat and everything.
it is my first pregnancy thats why i called so fast. so i would just go in and not wait but i have known people to go in around 10 weeks but i didnt want to wait.
i would call your doctor and talk to them.

typically you should be seen by 12-13 weeks. They will do your blood work and exam at that point. Most women are past 8 weeks before they even find out they are pregnant. Just take your vitamins and make your future appt. Your appts will be pretty often in the upcoming months.

Call your doctor and find out their policy. My doctor (she's been my doctor for both pregnancies) begins prenatal appointments as soon as the confirmation appointment is complete. Others will want one visit in the first trimester and then every month after that and still some do not see a woman until after her first trimester (which in my opinion is NOT soon enough). In my opinion....the earlier the better! Good Luck!

I got an appointment set up as soon as I knew I was pregnant.
It's not just about getting vitamins, it's about getting your medical history set up on your maternity notes.
