Ok...heres the deal. I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now, in August I stopped everything, the provera the fertility drugs everything. Well basically if I am not on anything, I will not have a period. Well in December I had one come on ON ITS OWN. But it lasted awhile, so the doc asked me if I would be alright going on a low dose BC just to get me regulated. Remember I am not taking anything as of then. So I said I guess. I mean I want to get pregnant, but I guess I need to get regulated first. So he put me on Yaz about 4 weeks ago, well 3 days ago I was supposed to start and didnt. So I just now 1:30pm took a test, one of those dollar store brand, and of course it was negative. My question is why am I not starting like I am supposeed to, and 2ndly why are my boobs so sore. I guess I just have never experienced all this before. Its like I want a baby so bad, but its like it never works out. When I start seeing symptoms I get excited. Anyway what to do. BLAH!!

your boobs are probably sore and you are feeling pregnant for two reasons, one like you said you really want it so you are faking yourself out and two your body is getting use to the BC. does your doctor know you are trying to get pregnant? i would ask him if there is something you can take (like fertility drugs) instead.

OK, my first question is, why do you not have a period when you are not on anything? Is there something medically wrong? Because if you are not on anything (assuming you are not pregnant) you should have a period approx. every 28 days or so. If you have something medically wrong, for example, they should take care of that and get your body to ovulate/get a period. I know from experience (I have a pituitary tumor that causes a high prolactin level - prolactin is what makes breastmilk production and that basically tricked my body into thinking it was pregnant and so I would go 1-3 months without a period before my body said "whoa she's not pregnant, she needs to have a period". The doctor put me on Dostinex and a few months later I was having regular periods.)
Now if there is nothing medically wrong then the possibilities for not getting your period and having the sore boobs is either: you are pregnant and the test was done to early to detect (depending on the brand, some are more sensitive to the hcg hormone), or two you have an impending period that is just not regulated yet.
I hope everything goes ok for you.

I was in the same boat you are in when I was trying to get pregnant for the first time. You're seeing the systoms because you want it so badly.I did the fertility drugs just like you and got no results.Your body is feeling the systoms because of the birth control pills.Talk to your doctor to see if there is anything else you can do rather then the pills to regulate your cycle, because if that's not regulated then there is a slim chance you are gonna get pregnant.I know it's hard to hear when you want this so badly but if you can get your cycle regulated then you have a better chance of getting pregnant. Don't try one of the dollar store tests alot of time they are out dated and can give false readings. The advice everyone gave to me was to relax and just let it happen on it's own,and it will!! believe me I'm going on #4,and stopped taking fertility drugs 6 months before I got pregnant with my first one and haven't been on them since!!

Being on hormones can make your breasts sore- just like they are sore when you are about to start your period.
I would suggest looking in to alternative means for regulating your cycle and getting pregnant.
Change your diet and remove all forms of artificial hormones from it like milk and cheeses (organic, hormone free is fine) and try acupuncture.
Talk to a naturopath or another specialist who has other tools for regulating cycles and helping fertility besides always resorting to artificial drugs and hormones.
eliminate the sources of stress in your life and then go on a leisurely vacation. Sometimes all you need is rest and romance to get pregnant.
Good luck.

well, a lot of times when you just start bc you wont be regulated right away-- but, if you think you could be preg-- i know it is hard, but i would jsut wait a couple more days and take another test--OR-- get a first response test or one of the ones that can tell you real early-- good luck~
