I have a 2 and a 1/2 year old son here are the symptoms :
Doesn't like hugs, kisses, or any kind of affection,
Won't play with his toys, he just lines them up and counts them over and over again, Calls things by there colour iinstead of there name, for no apparent reason stands and flaps his hands, doesn't like it when anyone comes into the house, doesn't like it when anyone looks at him, hates having his nappy changed, hates the thought of a potty, doesn't stop counting from waking to sleeping - he even wakes in the night counting sometimes, if i praise him he goes mad, starts crying and shouting no mummy!, he gets very violent towards people for nothing, he screws his face up when he talks to people and talks purposely in a deep growling voice.

My periods are usually heavy. Has this happened to anyone before? Or have I got nothing to worry about?

I have been confronted by a very concerning situation. I am aware of an individual who allows her 13 year old daughter to engage in sexual relations with her boyfriends in her own house. Even though the mother has her daughter taking birth control pills, I find this situation disturbing. I am seeking your mature and, or, professiomnal opinion regarding laws against parents that promote their teens to be sexually active. Would this be considered a form of neglect or child endangerment. also I am interested in hearing the opinions of parents who have teens. Would you allow this behavior in your own home ? This is a very serious question. I am extremely concerned for this young girl.

My husband was injured in Iraq in June of last year. 40 % of his body was burned and he was on alot of pain medications, but now he is doing better. We've been trying to get pregnant for the last 5 months now and we've had no luck. Could it be because of his tramatic injury and pain medications he was on? We already have a handsome 21 month old son but now we want a brother or sister for him.

I really am upset about the policies recently adopted by schools, that are in place to assure that they get the money from the state for each child.....rather than to keep the childs welfare in mind.

I always find myself frustrated when my daughter isn't feeling well. There is no way you can assign a certain amount of days that a child may miss due to illness.

I do not believe in taking my daughter to the doctor every time she develops a cold or fever. First, it contributes to the overuse of antibiotcs....and secondly, if I send her with a fever....isn't that exposing other kids to her illness. AND, aren't other parents sending their sick kids....and exposing her?!

This whole situation is frustrating and riciculous.

I AM NOT going to run to the doctor everytime she isn't feeling well to obtain the required doctors excuse for a bunch of beaurocrats in the school system.

I am 12 wks pregnant and our master bathroom at home has a chipped toilet seat. The white paint/top layer has chipped off and there are two small blackish colored spots where the paint used to be. I am assuming toilets are not made of anything toxic but just want to make sure! Thanks!!

He does not seem to care if his grades are bad. He says all the time that he already done it or forgot it. He comes home calling himself a loser or that he is dumb. He is always getting dententions for not doing or handing in his homework. I don't know what is wrong, he did great last year and he is in special classes. I always tell him I believe in him and that I know he can do it. But he always wants me to do his homework. I am at my wits end, I am crying all the time, and very stressed out. I don't know what to do anymore. I tried to have a talk with him, but it doesn't work.

My husband is very helpful when it comes to feedings and changes. But when my son crys He goes crazy, Starts yelling at the baby. i.e. "Will you Just Shut the helll up?" He also starts throwing or kicking things. He has never showed this fustration or anger before. He is very loving. He never yells at me. He says he gets fustrated because he can't make him stop crying, and he doesn't know what's wrong. He says he feels like a bad father because he can't help with the crying. Is this normal for a first time father,Feeling inadequate?

hello, I have a 3.5 year old who is extremely slow eater. Takes a lot of time eating his food when eating on his own. Its not that he is not hungry, he wants to eat all by himself, but very slow. He has recently started going to the preschool+daycare. He seems to enjoys his time there apart from meals. I am really worried for him as he can not finish meals in time an therefore goes hungry most of the times. Can anyone please suggest a way out from this? What can I do? How should I make him understand that he needs to eat faster???

I don't undrestand why there is so much criticizum toward parents who have to work, my husband started a buisness two weeks before I was due to have my baby, I was devistated, as I had trusted him to care for us during the time I would be on maternity leave as he had a full time job that I had bugeted for. This still rips my heart out as I was forced to go back to work early. We structured our work as best we could so he spends three days in day care, I wanted him at home more than what he is in care. This is still an issue for me, I have to try not to dwell on this as it has nearly ended my marriage but I have a son to think about and I do love my husband very much. So when you people decide to judge working parents, think about in an ideal world us parents would be able to stay with our little ones and care for them as we'd like to. Our morgage is no more than $150,000.00, and we do not live extravagently. We work to stay off the dole and to give our children a better life!

I experienced twinging and cramping on left hand side of womb area which then moved towards the centre of my body a few days later. Was I feeling my egg moving down my uterus from the left ovary? Wondered if anyone has experienced similar and knew that they were actually ovulating at the time as I am currently unaware of when I am ovulating due to having just stopped taking the pill. Thanks!

I am not homophobic or saying a loving gay couple could not bring love to a child but the norm is that a woman is the mother and the man is the father, biologically. Nature is subtle in the sexes. There are things that a man will never understand about a woman and vice versa. This is not about Adam and Eve. This is about Nature. Just as much as we fight for the right of the planet we must fight for the right of nature. A woman is the mother and the man is the father.
If in doubt, it should be down to the child and what THEY want.

My 6 year old is asking question of HOW a baby is made...he says he understands there has to be a mom and dad but HOW do they make the baby. WOW...I have no idea where to go with this. We have had no daddy for the past 4 1/2 years so its even harder for me to not be able to take the whole marriage escape ;).....any ideas on how much to give at this age? I don't want to be all technical with him yet and I surely don't want to give him all there is to give, but I don't want to lie to him either. Any sincere suggestions would be most appreciated....

I have two children ages 10 months to 27 months. I have been really busy with my daughter, because we have to go to physical therapy every week for a problem she has, I'm trying to potty train my son, I always have two dogs also, and one is 8 months old and not potty trained. In the winter the dog stays in at night in our laundry room. Every time I wake up, there is four or five craps in the room and pee everywhere! We just resuced this dog. I can't potty train it. My routine is waking up around 7:30 am and cleaning from that point on. My son makes small spills and I am constantly cleaning up, my son tries to help, but makes the mess worse. It's okay as long as he is helping. My husband changes 3 times a day and throws the clothes everywhere. He is always mad that he doesn't have clothes. I can't maintain a life with my kids and clean constantly like he wants. What should I do? He is like a hurricane when he comes home, he goes to work and I have to clean his mess over and over again.
