I started my period yeasterday evening, after being three days late. It started off with light spotting, but after having sex, it started to get heavier. After a while it went back to ligh spotting. My periods are usually heavy. Has this happened to anyone before? Or have I got nothing to worry about?

Periods can alter from time to time anyway, as we get older our bodies make minor changes too. You may be having a light period this month and the sex made it a little heavier by the muscle contractions which will take place during this. However if you are normally always on time with your periods and there is no reason you can think of it may be late (ie illness, stress, diet, exercise) there is always the possibility of pregnancy. Sometimes when pregnant women experience instead of their normal period a lighter one or spotting which is normally pinky or brown rather than red blood. This may be occuring & for same reason as above sex caused more muscle contractions releasing more blood. This is probably unlikely and it is just your normal period but I am just giving you all possible circumstances! It would be best to take a pregnancy test, it should help give you a more accurate answer. In any case, the bleeding may come on again more heavier like normal given time.

You may be or not pregnant. After about 14 days you can bye your own pregnancy test at the drug store. They are quit accurate. If they show that you are pregnant see your doctor. By the way the test are a urine test with coloured strips.
