My husband was injured in Iraq in June of last year. 40 % of his body was burned and he was on alot of pain medications, but now he is doing better. We've been trying to get pregnant for the last 5 months now and we've had no luck. Could it be because of his tramatic injury and pain medications he was on? We already have a handsome 21 month old son but now we want a brother or sister for him.

The only way to tell if he might have a problem with his sperm is to go get a sperm analysis at the docs. If everything turns out fine with his little guys then it could just be timing (5 months is not long to be trying) or something else.

5 months in the TTC world isnt really that long at all. i got preg with my 1st right away, wasnt on any b/c and when we tried to have our 2nd, it took almost 5 years of trying. could be alot of thigns to consider why its not happening, right time? stress? if you have tried for over a year go and see a doctor about it and make sure you are both ok to have kids, maybe his accident effected sperm count? worth a shot, stay strong keep your head up!

I don't know how he was burned but excessive heat can cause sterility which is usually temporary. He may have a low sperm count still.
Good luck and God bless you
