I am 12 wks pregnant and our master bathroom at home has a chipped toilet seat. The white paint/top layer has chipped off and there are two small blackish colored spots where the paint used to be. I am assuming toilets are not made of anything toxic but just want to make sure! Thanks!!

You are highly unlikely to have any problem, toilet seats really aren't that germy, but I would replace it anyway. A nice new seat is not that expensive. There is a chance that bacteria could work its way into the base wood which stays damp if your bottom is sweaty but I wouldn't worry about it. I have a nice new plastic seat in my bathroom.

i doubt that it is serious either but do you really want to take even the smallest chance with your unborn child just get a new toilet seat and rest your mind at ease for your sake and your babys.
