Old wive's tales say that lower heartrates are boys and higher heartrates are girls. But there is no way to know for sure until the sono tells you, or the baby is born!! Congratulations!

I don't believe in those old wives tales but my son's heart rate was lower than my babies that i'm pregnant with right now and i'm having a girl.
I think my son's was in the 140's and my baby girl's is in the 150's. Of course don't go by that, you never really know unless they can confirm through ultra sound, and sometimes those can be wrong.
Just make sure you have a boy's name and girl's name picked out, just in case.

Gender detection by heartbeat is an old wives' tale. You can't detect gender by the heartbeat.

You should have an ultrasound at around 20 weeks where they should be able to tell you what you're having... if the baby cooperates.

Until then, wait it out, and give the critter a gender-neutral nickname so as not to refer to the baby as "it."

Heartrate has nothing to do with the sex. Wives tales say anything over 140 is a girl..but don't go by that..

I thought 140 and higher was a boy. It worked on my 2 pregnancies.

thats no way of telling, i had 3 girls, all 3 had very diffrent ranges. 130's..140's and 150-160's and all were girls, those are all old wives tales.
