He doesn't tell you when he needs to go because he isn't ready to be potty trained.

I think you're doing all the right things and keep in mind as frustrating as it may get, he's only 2. I have a 19 year old & a 2 1/2 year old. When my 19 was potty training she caught on with no problem at all. Not even an accident with her when she was training. My 2 1/2 year old has no interest whatsoever in potty training. Though I do look at him on occasion and ask "why didn't you tell mommy you had to go potty?" (especially when we just left the restroom) and become somewhat puzzled, my goal is not to pressure him. Yes; I may have to change a few pull ups a little longer but he's only little for a little while. I don't want to rush him and I don't want him developing anxiety about the toilet. My suggestion is to relax with it and don't pressure yourself or your child. (Children are smart, they pick up on the frustration) I don't know of many children who start school that still wear pull ups and doubt ours will be wearing them when they start school either. I take him to the potty any time he says he needs or want to go; He watches as "daddy goes" and he's getting the idea of how this thing works. The 19 years went so fast with my daughter that I now find myself not rushing through the years with my son. Enjoy parenting; enjoy the ups and the downs and know, it all works out eventually.

It sounds like he's just not ready to be potty trained. All kids are ready at different ages and you can't force it on them. My son was 3 before he was out of diapers and would still do #2 in his pants til he was almost 4 because he was scared of doing it in the toilet. According to my pediatrician, they will go when they are ready and not a minute sooner. There's no reason to worry until they are approaching 5 and still show no interest.

i ought to get both. My daughter began on the potty chair to study because she became terrified of the tremendous lavatory. Then once she were given the carry close of that she had to apply the tremendous potty and used the seat that matches on it. some potty chairs have the alternative of taking the right off to positioned on the lavatory once the little ones are waiting for it.

Try throwing a couple of cherrios in the water, and show him how he can "aim" and "shoot" them to try to make them sink. I'll bet he has more interest about potty training once he gets the hang of that!!

I know it sound cruel, but leave him in it for just a bit. Maybe he wont like the feeling (direct wetness) and express to you next time when he has to go. But with my daughter, I can tell from her voice, body actions and temperment when she had to go. There are signals you just got to pick up on them.
