I work part time for a criminal attorney. I love the work I do. In September, my babysitter quit (I have two children). I live an hour away from my closest family members, and I live in a big city, and I really don't trust anyone to watch my children. I have looked into daycare, but it costs per month exactly what I make per month, so I would basically be working to put my kids in daycare.

My boss and I worked out a system where I can work from home most days of the week, and come into the office three mornings. My husband also worked out with his boss some mornings that he could have the baby at work while our oldest is in school. It worked out pretty well, until now.

My boss has wanted me to pick up extra responsibilities. Since I am not in the office as much, there is less time to do the stuff that can only be done at the office. And when I am there, I usually have emergencies to take care of, so it takes a while to get tedious stuff done. Now with all of the extra stuff, things are getting more and more behind.

On top of this, my baby has a vision condition that we are going to the doctor quite a bit for (meaning I miss work), and she has been sick for a long time with a cold and other things that require doctor visits (meaning I miss more work). When I am home, I am trying to work and take care of her, and things get even MORE behind.

Anyway, here is the point of my story. How do you manage all of these stressors as a work at home mom? And is there a point where you really have to evaluate whether to be home with the kids exclusively or work in an office exclusively? This really wouldn't be an issue if I had a support network near me, but I moved away from my family and we can't just up and sell our house right now. Also, my husband is working two jobs to help us, so it is really hard to lose an entire income.

Has anyone been through this before? If so, how did you handle it? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for hanging in there since this was so long!

I don't have a brain in my skull, so I'm letting strangers decide for me.
Give me the dumbest ideas EVAH!!! I'll use them because I don't have a shred of personality in my entire body...
Hurry though, I need to go to Walmart for my shift as associate under assistant to the floor washer...

OK...I did not mention that we DO NOT allow him to call her anymore due to the fact that he has to lie about it. They do not "date", or even see eachother for that matter. She only came to the house a couple times to hang out.

Any suggestions on what to feed her and what not to would be greatly appreciated. I know the basics, no milk, butter, cheese, etc... But what are the things that wouldn't normally be considered dairy that she could have a bad reaction to?

Has anyone used the CBE Fertility Monitor and had IUI? If so, how did you time it? At my RE's office you have to call the day before to get an appt for IUI and I've never used the Monitor before so I need to know when to call?

live and they are terrible so i am going to try to change things around here. it is going to take alot of hard work and time on my part and if i can actually change this than i doubt i will be able to do it in time for my daughter to actually go to daycare but at least i might save some families from the horrible things that happen in the daycares where i live so i would like state ratios for liscenced daycares in your area to compare to what we have in florida which are (no infants i have yet to find a center that takes infants thank god cuz there ratios suck)
1 yearold's 10 kids to 1 care provider
2 year olds 12 to 1 CP
3 yearolds 14 to 1 CP
4 yearold 16 to 1 CP
etc so i have asked in the past what you thought about these ratios and you all overwhelming agreed with me this is not good so help with your state ratios so i can get the ball rolling please there have been kids in these centers that have brain damage serious burns and locked on busses also CP hired w/ no background

I don't know how to approach him and tell him. I am no longer with my teenage son's father. I have had about a 2 year relationship with someone else which means that it is not my ex's child. I also haven't made time for my son and boyfriend to spend time together because I don't want to force my boyfriend on my son.....what should I do? I think my son notices that I am pregnant, he's just waiting for me to tell him myself.

Bless Parents Who Drugged Us!

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?''

I replied: I had a drug problem when I was young:

I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals

I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.

I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.

I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profane four-letter word.

I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields.

I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.

Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

We are not using protection because we are ready to start trying again but we don't know if I have to have my period first before we get pregnant again. I have had a lot of problems with my cycle due to fibroids in the past. I had some spotting since I gave birth but nothing substantial. My milk has not completely dried up yet either . I know sometimes women don't get their period when they are breastfeeding but also I know women who have gotten pregnant while they were breastfeeding. I want to get pregnant now but are we getting our hopes up for nothing?

i mean, i'm 15, and i see no need whatsoever. i have friends for companionship, and to me a boyfriend would just be added temptation to do things i'm not supposed to do. teenagers aren't planning on getting married any time soon, so what's the use in having a boy friend and dating, i don't get it.

I have found several Madella pumps being sold on eBay. I already have the parts that actually come in contact with the milk. My friend bought one that was used "once" and had no problems.

Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

Anyone ever tried those Vitamin water???? Do you know if drinking those are safe for pregnancy? I know it's vitamins and it should be safe but just a thought. I know too much Vitamin A is bad for the baby that's why.
