OK...I did not mention that we DO NOT allow him to call her anymore due to the fact that he has to lie about it. They do not "date", or even see eachother for that matter. She only came to the house a couple times to hang out.

You should never make them break up it is just going to make them want each other even more so just let the time go by with the way they are handling it and they will soon realize that it is to hard to continue a relationship like that if not then may be they really do love each other and were meant to be and as for you son i know that you do not want his feeling to get hurt but that is part of growing up how else will he find the girl he is meant to be with if he does get hurt just be there to comfort him and let him know that he is still young and will find some one else that he will love even more
best of luck to you and your son.

Have you tried talking to the parents of the girl and trying to find out what the note said? It may be important to fix that relationship rather than force them to "break up". Also, they are 12 and this is puppy love. They will get over it soon enough.

I must be missing something - how old is "he" - etc. Without further details it's hard to offer any advice. However, unless he's in physical danger - telling him he can't - only makes him (or her) want to hang on even tighter and makes the situation worse.

Kids do what there parents don't let them. Encourage it so much that that he feels like..."Okay whatever" but be sure to be clear on where the line is, and how thick/thin it is.
