i can go either way on this question.

(right) if the pregnancy was caused by rape... or youre not going to be able to properly provide and care for the newborn (then again, there is always adoption)

(wrong) it's a human life. something that's a big deal. the child someone kills from abortion could have been someone extremely amazing. you never know.

i have been in that situation where i thought i should get an abortion but i have kept the baby and couldn't be any more thrilled with my choice.

but always remember, there is ALWAYS adoption if you get pregnant and don't want the baby... at least someone will take care of the child.

Killing innocent human beings is wrong, and every abortion kills an innocent human being. For more information, see:

1) The asker of the question did not say she was personally going to have one; don't attack her.

2) Not everyone defines a fetus or embryo as a "baby". From my perspective, a "baby" is a being that can exist apart from its mother's body. If it's not sentient, is it really alive? (People euthanize animals all of the time. Oh, and what about miscarriages and still-borns?Are these murder, too?)

In the end, it's a personal choice. Just because you yourself might not have one, does not mean that you should dictate to others what they can and cannot do with their own bodies. There are too many circumstances and factors for any person, other than the female who's pregnant, to decide for others.

(And let me add here that I think men should just keep their noses out of it. Typically men haven't the slightest clue as to the effects of a pregnancy upon a woman's body -- MANY things can change permanently, and many can cause serious problems, many of which wouldn't be known about until the end of a pregnancy. Until you males can give birth, and know all that goes with it, you should support the right for a female to choose. Sorry if it sounds harsh or uncaring, but it's a simple fact, and there's nothing comparable to a pregnancy. I'd be willing to bet that if the shoe was on the other foot, men would be a lot more supportive of women's right to choose.)

Wow tough question...

While I believe that abortion should be a personal choice and should be an option open to pregnant women, I don't necessarily believe that it is the most ethical choice.

There are so many women in so many different situations, and I think to categorize them in a category of "right" or "wrong" is a tough thing to do. There are women/teens who have been raped, are victims of incest, or who have their own medical problems that might make it impossible to have a baby. I truly believe that abortion is a personal decision and that one needs to walk a mile in those shoes to decide what they would do. It's easy to point a finger from the outside looking in, but when the tides are turned and you're in the situation looking out....things often look different.

I don't think it's appropriate to use as a form of birth control - people make mistakes, but 5, 6, 7 abortions doesn't seem acceptable to me. From the women I know who have had them - almost all of them regret it. I think outlawing abortion would cause scared women to seek alternative measures, and I would prefer to see a medical professional handle them.

It is a very sad thing, and I do believe it's ending a life...but as far as right or wrong....I'd say it's in the grey area.

I don't think you can give a specific answer because every case is different and every person is different. I believe its easy to make a sweeping decision but you can never tell unless your in that situation. In my opinion I think it's wrong because I've read about the procedures and seen some pictures whilst doing some ethics research. But then people will differ, and I wouldn't judge anyone who does chose to have an abortion, its an individuals decision, I don't think there is an absolute to this

I am not going to answer one way or another on this question. Personally I dont believe in destroying a life, cld never do it myself, hence why I ended up with 4 georgous children. I think its up to the person themselves as they then have to go through life "maybe with regrets for what they have done" and with the possibility of never having another child as things cld go wrong !!! Sorry if this is to the point, buy purely my opinion. Good luck xx

completely and utterly wrong...all life is a gift and no one should be able to play god.all mt lfe i believed abortion is murder, more so now after i lost my son 2 years ago after havin him for 6 precious weeks... and then last year i had to watch my niece of a year old battle a cancer tumour on her kidney...i just cant under stand how ppl like me who have had and lost and yes i know im better to have loved him and lost him than to never have had him at all,and im eternally grateful for the precious time we had.but it gets to me when ppl have unprotected sex not thinkin bout the consequences and end up havin abortion.at the min im tryin for another child for the past 13 months but not suceeded after these two very unbearable years. so tell me,how can a human being kill one of there own...thats something ill never ever be able to understand...

i think its ok. provided its used with care. some people use abortion as a type of contraception which i think is very wrong but i think if the child is a result of rape or if the couple did use contraception its ok provided they have considered all other options first,

and if it will harm the mother if she continues the pregnancy i think its better to end the pregnency

abortion is a matter of opinion and there is no point in arguing over a matter of opinion as it won't change peoples minds!

I'm pro choice and a mum of 3.. pro choice as in its up to the person no one else should interfere its a hard enough situation for someone to be in without people laying on the guilt trip!

Right if the woman involved feels it is the right decision for her. The anti abortionists should shut up; showing pictures of foetuses is not going to win the argument. As for the religious argument, it won't sway with those who aren't religious.
