We are not using protection because we are ready to start trying again but we don't know if I have to have my period first before we get pregnant again. I have had a lot of problems with my cycle due to fibroids in the past. I had some spotting since I gave birth but nothing substantial. My milk has not completely dried up yet either . I know sometimes women don't get their period when they are breastfeeding but also I know women who have gotten pregnant while they were breastfeeding. I want to get pregnant now but are we getting our hopes up for nothing?

The lactational amenhorrea method of birth control is a very good and effective method, but it only works if: the baby is less than 6 months old, your periods have not returned, and you are breastfeeding exclusively.

Since your baby is older and you are no longer breastfeeding, you certainly could get pregnant. Will you? That's a question no one can answer. There is nothing wrong in trying if that's what you want. I became pregnant when my daughter was 8 months old -- we weren't trying! -- and while we had intended to have our children spaced farther apart, we are very happy with the way things are.

Good luck to you!!

Yes, it can happen with or without being pregnant. Breast feeding is not birth control - though it can cause you to not have your period. It could also be that you stopped your normal post-pregnancy bleeding and then had a little more come out - that it was never really your period to begin with. It is normal for a period to not return for several months if you are breast feeding. I would get a pregnancy test to be certain and if it is negative, just make sure you are using protection and enjoy not having your period. Sometimes a woman's period may not return the entire time she breast feeds - but it doesn't mean you can't get pregnant.

You have to start ovulating again and this may not be happening right now considering you haven't had a period. I would just keep 'trying' since there is no harm in that and see what happens. Or you can ask your OB for their opinion and they may run some tests...

After my first daughter was born, I nursed for 7 months and never got my period until after I stopped. We didn't get pregnant again until after her 1st birthday...it could just be taking some time so try to be patient and see what happens.

Good luck!

You may or may not ovulate before your first period.

You can also ovulate regularly and never have a period the human body is a strange thing.

The best thing to do would be to get an ovulation prediction kit. I prefer the saliva tests.

However if you aren't ovulating your body is likely telling you you aren't physically ready to have another child. Work on improving your diet, particularly leafy greens.

Infertility can be caused by a huge number of factors: hormone imbalance, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Endometriosis, Anovulatory Cycles, physical blockage, inadequate hormone production, short luteal phase, lack of lutenizing hormone, high levels or prolactin, and many others. Poor nutrition often plays a major role, as does exposure to toxins. Age plays less of a role before menopause than was originally thought. While there are many wonderful naturally minded fertility specialists out there, in many cases it is not possible for them to test for and address any of these possible underlying issues.

You can get pregnant without ever having a period. BUT, since you probably won't know when you are ovulating until you've had a couple of cycles, it isn't likely.

Uterine fibroids are usually not dangerous, but can cause immense discomfort and lead to complications like anemia from heavy blood loss. In rare cases, they may cause complications that affect pregnancy.

In cases where there are no symptoms, treatment may not be necessary. However, proper diagnosis and treatment may be required if your symptoms are severe or causing complications. Along with conventional treatment, you can try some natural home remedies. Read here https://tr.im/Dz026

I'm not entirely sure if you can get pregnant now or not. If you can then that's wonderful. If you can't, then at least you get the pleasure of trying.
