Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 January 2007

Hi. My son is 21 months old. He only speaks 6 words and even those 6 he rarely says. We have had him tested and nothing is physically/mentally wrong with him he is just stuborn. My husband keeps hinting that we should get him into a daycare one a week or so (since right now I am a stay at home mom with him) he thinks being around other kids will help his speach. This is a very sensitive subject for me, as I also feel maybe I have done something wrong in teaching him. I follow all of the advise given and still nothing works. I am VERY against sending my son to daycare (as I don't want a stranger raising my son)
What is your opinion on this. Is my husband just pouring salt into my wounds or should I really look into taking his advise although it is against my better judgement.
Please reply kindly as I am very sensitive about this. thanks

This is my second child (the first one is 9 years old
My doc said that I'm 2cm and 50% effaced, I'm feeling miserable and last night I experienced what I think are Braxton Hicks (only every 10 or 15 mins) continuous until about 4am. when your 2cm and 50 % effaced how close are you to labor??

My due date is January 19th. . . My Mom lives in San Antonio and wants to be here should I tell her to come on the 18th??

If you have bad morning sickness, do they help you out in the kitchen if you can't stand the smell of food? Do they let you sleep longer if you have had a sleepless night? Do they do extra housework without being told or complaining if you are to sick to move?

Went to my 30 week appointment today and the heart rate sounded slower than usual. It was 120 bpm which the midwife said was within the normal range. I can't seem to find anything on the net, but does anyone know what the normal range is for a fetus around 30 weeks?

I have read similar questions and answers for this same problem on here , but I thought I'd try again.I have to go back to work or we won't have a roof over our heads but my 5 1/2 month old daughter refuses to bottle feed.It does not matter who tries it , Or if I'm around or not.She refuses the sippie cup and barely likes the solids.Does anyone have any other answers or advice?...I am sincerely desperate!

I have been on birth control for six years. My husband and I decided to try for a baby and I stopped taking the pill the end of July. We are in our early/mid 20's so I just dont understand why it is taking longer than people that arent trying and just get pregnant!!

August and September my cycles were regular and then October and November I had like 1 day cycles. I dont remember if before the pills i had regular cycles or not. December was normal though and my Dr. says everything is okay with all that happening. I was just wondering has anyone else been through this or understands or has any advice

My son threw up last night and I can't seem to get the smell out. I have already tried soaking it and then using the shop vac to suck up the moisture and cleaning it with vinegar. It still smells like puke!! HELP!!!

they did not give me any type of apron, instead they used a screen which was on a stand and pushed it up near me. Is this just as safe? I'm worried about it hurting my baby.

I posted earlier about the nasty smell in my house, im pretty sure it is the dishwasher soap. i was wondering if other pregnant people could smell thier dishwasher soap and tell me if it stinks or not and what kind/brand is it? mine is the dollar store variety. at least i almost got it narrowed down. i smelt right out of the box and pee you!!!!!!!

I think I might be in the very early stages of pregnancy and my boyfriend (not knowing my suspisions of being pregnant) has just found out that his mate is about to become a dad and told me that he thinks we should wait because we're not ready to have a baby yet, I really dont know what to do! My son is three years old and keeps messing with his penis, everytime he is naked he touches and squeezes it and even swings it. I have even caught him with is out of his pants messign with it while watching tv. Since he is now in underwear he always holds and squeezes it through the underwear. I asked him why he keeps messing with it and he says he don't know and i know kids are curious but i wonder is it normal for him to be messing with it so much. And if i should tell him not to, i dont want to encourage his penis playing by not saying anything when he does it.

I have been married for 4 years and it is 2 months that we decided to have a child. I have some imbalance in my hormons (high LH:FSH=3). I am not overwight but have some extra hairs on my face and chest. When I was teenager my periods were very irregular, the cycle was about 3 weeks, but it had many jumps... . After marriage, my period became more regular (every 30 days), but it is about 4 months that I have late periods, the cycle is about 34-40 days. I am worried about having PCOS or not getting pregnant. I really want to get pregnant. Any comments?

I was felt really confident and blooming in pregnancy until about a week ago at 27 weeks. I had very little in the way of sickness and tiredness, no problems sleeping and a 'neat-ish' bump.

Then bam in the last few days my stomach seems to have doubled in size and now like a sumo. My lungs and stomach seems really squeezed and tight. I have squirts of acid coming up after most meals. I just can't get comfy and my skin feels like it is about to burst open. I can't see my private parts any more, let alone my toes, and the baby seems to be banging to get out most of the night.

I guess these are all signs of a normal and healthy pregnancy but has anyone else had such a sudden pace of change. I am thinking hell - ten weeks to go and grow - how am I and my body going to cope? We are really looking fowards to meeting our baby but I have moments when I feel invaded! Am I alone in this???!!!

can a doctor refuse to do a circuncision on a baby boy because of the doc religon? my son and his wife just had a baby boy and the doc would not circuncise him he said it was against his faith ,so they had to find another doc. did not know that docs could do that.

My husband and I need to have a will drawn up to ensure a good home for our children in case something was to happen to us. But I can't pick anyone from the people I know. I want them to have a christian upbringing, that would be my mother, but my step father isn't good with kids. My sisters..no way. My sister-in-law has LOTS of money but 5 kids of her own, who she rarely spends time with. My husbands parents are too sick (cancer) to take them. I just don't know! How did you pick?

I have been trying for a baby for over 22 months now. i came off the pill (Which i had been on for 5 years) to try for a baby without success. i have been back and too to the docs for the last 6/8 months to see if they could help me and all the reply was that i had been through a lot of stress and to continue. i experienced a period in at the beginning of nov and 2 weeks later had another period! then in dec another period and low and behold 20 days later a period jan 1st! a gr8 start to the new year i must say, what is going on?? my periods can differ from month to month; sometimes having 2 in one month. i have just been for a blood test to check hormone levels and have to wait for one week for the results to come back, fingers crossed. why can't i conceive? i'm not stressed and am really happy with my life. has anyone else experienced anything similar pls let me know,
