My son threw up last night and I can't seem to get the smell out. I have already tried soaking it and then using the shop vac to suck up the moisture and cleaning it with vinegar. It still smells like puke!! HELP!!!

The thing I found to be best when my son had the flu and puked all over the carpet A FEW TIMES lol...Carpet Fresh Pet Odors. Sound weird but it works. It is this foaming carpet cleaner. Yo ushake it, spray it and the foam dries in like 5 minutes and thats it. It smells really good and the pet odor one really takes smells out. The others dont do as well. But its ok cuz I think the pet one smells better than most anyways.

Rent a carpet cleaner at Menard's, Lowe's, the grocery store, etc, and clean the spot. You will probably have to go over the spot several times. Might as well do the entire house while you have it - you'll be amazed at what you get out of your carpets.

Leaving vomit on carpet is worse than using any harsh cleaner. Vomit contains bile and acid. I would be more worried about that than any kind of cleaner.

My preference....Formula 409....It has a pleasant scent too.

I was also going to say some kind of pet cleaner. There are sooooo many different kinds, just look for a gentle one. The chemicals are different because it is for body wastes.
