During our stay at the hospital the nursing staff got my daughter used to bottle feeding and I have been challenged with getting her to latch on. I am really set on breastfeeding. In order to provide her with the breast milk I am forced to use a breast pump and bottle feed her. Is there any hope of getting her to finally breast feed or is pumping ok?

I am 37 weeks & 3 days pregnant. For about 2-3 months now, I feel like my body has slowly been getting weaker and unhealthy. I know pregnancy normal takes a lot from you, this is my second, but I honestly feel like something is different and going wrong. I have a feeling that I have preeclampsia but I feel like my doctors are ignoring my symptoms and the fact that at 37 weeks my baby is only 4.8LBS!
I'll tell you tmy symptoms and please tell me what you think....
-Swelling in entire body but mostly legs and ankles
-Vision changes (Blurry, light flashes, dizziness)
-Off and on High Blood Pressure
-Extreme fatigue & weakness (no matter how much sleep I get)
-Hot flashes
-Feeling swollen and "stuffy" in my face (Almost like my face is swelling and trying to pop my eyes out of my head!)
-Fevers
-Random headaches
-Protein & blood in urine
-Underweight unborn baby (4.8LBS @ 37 wks)

Those are the few I can think of... I'll add more if I can think anymore! Thanks Girls!

My mom says its really wierd. But within weeks of giving birth to my daughter I wanted to have another baby. And believe me one is enough right now! My guess is that I had (still have) huge amounts of 'mothering' hormones coursing through my body. Has anyone else had similar feelings?

less than a day old . . . tiny head still slightly misshapen, eyelids puffy. The nurse has taken him from his mother and is carrying him to a side room in the pediatric ward. The nurse pops on a white heat lamp with her elbow, removes the child from a blue blanket, and lays him in a molded plastic form bolted to the counter. This bathtub-like shell is called a Circumstraint. There are indentations for the baby’s arms and legs. The nurse binds Velcro straps around his limbs, bends the light over him and steps back. The baby is naked and spread-eagled, and he begins to cry.

The doctor snaps the scalpel blade onto the handle, then places it beside the baby. Lifting the hemostat, which resembles a sharp-tipped pair of pliers, he begins. Holding the penis in one hand, he moves the point of the hemostat through the hole at the end of the foreskin. The foreskin is tightly attached to the glans, like a fingernail to a finger. Using no anesthesia, the doc...

what about the name Bo Franklin for a boy? Both are very old fashioned, which I like. I dont care for the popular bizarre names that people come up with these days.

I am 31 years and quite happy not having any children. I don't want to have any children and will probably get a tubal ligation this year. I know there are other women who know they don't want children and have to put up with relatives (mainly mothers) and friends insisting that every woman should have one child. I know our biological function is to reproduce, but as human beings we do not always follow this as our prime objective in life.

I am not due for my cycle to start until 12/26/06, but on the 17th I began to bleed. Very lightly though and it stopped early this morning. Could it be implantation bleeding?

my sister's baby is so intellegent it scares me. he is almost 2 yrs old. he is trying to talk big words already and i have a good gift for getting exactly what he is saying. my sister works an awful lot and due to nasty day care issues preffers to sit him with me. but his behavior-- he is defiant and he- when he doesn't get his way -screams-fake cries- and throws things and slaps and kicks people.NOW MIND YOU I AM 31 , MEXICAN AND NOT A MOTHER BUT LEARNING AND TRYING TO BE ONE - SO I NEED ADVICE.- is this normal for him to be nice one minute/ happy and the other minute a mean spiteful child the next? his father- my sister said had a vicious abusive streak with his temper and fled the state due to criminal problems so he is not around but my sister sees some of the same abusive characteristics in the baby as she saw in his father. is this genetic? is giving him time outs ok? how do i deal?

I don't usually take any nasal decongestants, but seriously, I couldn't breathe, and my doc said that it was okay to take while pregnant.

It's made me a nervous wreck, though, and I can't sleep. My heart feels like it's slamming up against my chest wall, and my chest hurts a little.

Has anyone else had this happen while pregnant? Was it just a side-effect, or was there anything really wrong?

Both my husband and I are white and I was wondering if the first name Jordan for a boy is suitable for a caucasian. I am not being racist, I just don't him to have a name that is mostly used by other races.

So I was dating this girl for a few weeks and we hooked up one time. We didn't use protection but she took the morning after pill but still got pregnant. We talked about it and she agreed that neither of us could afford it and her parents would kick her out. Now a couple months later I hear that shes telling her friends she has decided to keep it. She has not told me yet. I emailed and called her but have not heard back yet. What do I do? Do i try to convince her to get an abortion? We are both 23 and still in colleg and theres no way we could support it. Not to mention we aren't seeing eah other anymore and I am now in a commited relationship (she doesn't know about the pregnancy.) I am freaking out here and any advice would be appreciated. Feel free to conatact me. I need all the support I can get.

Sometimes we feel our past selves are completely dead and a new, more mature person has taken place. But when the parent can't tell the difference or has never bothered to know their children's life philosophies then how are people supposed to feel loved by their naive parents? There is no real identity.

My Dr. told me to take tylenol and just be patient but I've been 3cm and in excruciating pain for 3days (almost 4 now). I had vicodin (previous rx) and it worked for about 30 min but now the vicodin has no effect on me other than making me a little drowsy. I was told that I can't be induced due to 2 previous uterine surgeries. She also told me that she'd break my water when I got to 5 cm. The pain is driving me nuts nad effects my ability to function. I've long since lost my mucus plug.
