Both my husband and I are white and I was wondering if the first name Jordan for a boy is suitable for a caucasian. I am not being racist, I just don't him to have a name that is mostly used by other races.

Come on ! Who cares if you are pink! Jordan is a nice name for a boy. Just so you know I know a colored boy who is named Jordan.
We are a bunch of races all living on this planet and we're constantly using a form of a name or the same name.
BTW Jordan in Arabic is Or dun.
For a girl you use Jordayna.

I think Jordan is a cute name for a boy. I was actually thinking about naming my son Jordan...he's half black, half puerto rican. But you shouldn't name your child a name that you think is suitable for his complexion and race. It should be based on if you and your husband like the name and feel that it has a nice ring to it. I named my son Jayden..which is becoming very popular these days between girls, boys, whites, blacks, and hispanics. You shouldn't determine your child's name with what race he/she is going to be. Good luck...but Jordan is a cute name.

The name Jordan originates from Hebrew and means "to flow, or descend" I have a cousin that is named Jordan and he is Dutch with blue eyes and blonde hair. However I don't think that somebody should choose a name because of what race it sounds like it fits, if they love the name, then they should choose that name.

Of course it can be suitable for a caucasian. In fact, every Jordan I have ever met has been white. Even the girl's I've met named Jordan were white.

Jordan is a very common name in the Jewish community. I don't think it is a problem to name your son Jordan regardless of race. However, Jordan is a very unisex name and I don't like unisex names.
