sharing well. I recently took in my niece and nephew. They are 2 and 4. She is having a really hard time sharing anything. She also has a 2 year old sister that comes over every weekend that she shares fine with. How can I help her to learn to share, and get along with the other kids. They will be with us for 6 months or maybe longer?
Please help, I need some good ideas.

Hi All,

My son has a new daycare teacher (its a home daycare) that speaks mainly spanish. She has been teaching my son spanish words. I know that this will be good for him in the long run, but I would rather him wait another year or 2 before he is taught spanish. We speak english only in our house. I just feel like because he is still learning to speak english, the spanish learning should wait. Am I being paranoid? I just don't want him coming home and pointing at something, and saying what it is in spanish, but not knowing what it is in English. Is it too early for him?

I have a baby due in May and a son that just turned 5. My husband wants me to stay home with them and resign my job position. My son has asthma and gets very sick very easily. He is wanting me to consider homeschooling him also at least till he gets a little older and builds his immune system. I want to stay home also for the most part, we can make it on my husbands income if we cut back a little and watch our money closely. I have just always had a job and feel guilty for not bringing home a paycheck. Has anyone else been through a situation like this and had these feelings?

First christmas with your new wife, you have an 8 year old daughter from your first marriage who you send to her birth mother's to visit every other xmas and for the summers... This xmas the birth mother doesn't really live anywhere, she doesn't have a home... you decide to get a room at a Motel8 with $200 for food (standard 2 double beds and a bathroom, no kitchen or 'fridge) for 10 days in the area and still send the child for christmas... What do you think of this?

I just realized that my husband is spoiled because he HAS to have things that he wants, nothing else. When he doesn't have what he wants, he complains about it until i get it for him, or let him buy it. I just realized, as I watch him scramble to buy a cell phone for his 9 year old daughter, how important it is for him to give and get exactly what is asked for. And I see its because he always got what he wanted growing up. I got a lot of toys and gifts growing up, but I remember my parents being creative and giving us things we didn't know existed. As a result, we had a lot of stuff, and learned how to do things, that our friends didn't. We rarely were asked what we wanted, but we were always happy with what we got because we got awesome things. Am I stuck up to think other kids should be humbled this way? Or am I expecting kids to suffer.

My boyfriend's son is 3 months short of being 3 and he still isn't talking. Once and awhile he will use a single word but he is not forming sentences like he should be for his age and the words that he does use are not even remotely related to what he is really trying to say. He is constantly in a fit of rage and crying even though he is not in any pain. While having these tempertantrums he will grind his head into the carpet while pushing with his feet leaving burns on his forhead if you dont stop him. he will also bash his head off of the floor leaving giant eggs on his head. He does this all the time. All it takes is for someone to walk through the door. He doesnt reallt play with his toys as much as he throws them or breaks them. Playing with his trucks consists of him lining them up all facing the same way. I am really concerned that something may be wrong and I would like to know early on so that we can do more to prepare him for school when that time comes.

My 7 year old daughter wets her pants often. This will happen 2-3 times a day and then not for a few days. She never wets at night. I limit her fluids after dinner, she has been checked for UTI and small bladder. I really think she is just being lazy, not going when she is playing or involved in something. I have tried taking things away, grounding, even made her wear a pull-up for a day, which actually worked for about a week. She is the middle child of 5 and actually is always busy with her older or younger siblings. I do not think it is an attention getting ploy because she will do her best to hide it from us when she has "an accident". I send her to the bathroom every hour or so when she is home, any other ideas?? Thank you in advance.

We are on the hunt for a good boys first name. We don't usually go for common names but we also don't like crazy names. Examples we like are Kelan & Davin, but neither really go with Brian (my hubby's Dad's name who passed away). Keep in mind that we also have a long Russian last name that starts with a Z!

Its AT LEAST once a week. He refuses to get up and says hes sick. Theres nothing wrong with him and later in the day he always 'magicly' feels better. Im so frustrated with this.
I have discussed the difference between 'not feeling great' and really being sick, and that a person cannot miss that much school or work. Hes failing all his classes because he misses so much school. The school says they can do nothing.
Today again he says he sick. I got really angry and told him I dont believe him and he thinks Im being mean to a 'sick' person. I told him he's cried wolf too many times, and made him admit he lies about it often, so I dont trust his word.
I HATE starting my day off like this. Getting angry. B1tching at him.
As a mother, my natural instinct is to be understanding and supportive if my child is sick...but hes abused this...and now it just plain pisses me off when I hear him whine that hes sick as he lays in bed and refuses to get up.
What would you do?????????? Help!
