It took me 2 months to get a positive pregnancy test. I knew I was pregnant I couldn't understand why the tests were still coming up negative. I took a first response test, it's suppose to be more sensitive to the pregancy hormone then those other tests and it came up positive. Try first response.

With my first baby, I took 2 preg tests at the doctor and both times (tests were 1 week apart) they said neg. After being so excited, I gave up on the idea of being pregnant. But I kept waiting for my period, and it never came. I bought a four pack of tests and took all of them. Guess what, I WAS pregnant. The same thing happened with my second child. It didn't take 4 months to get the positive, just about a week after I should've had my period. The second baby, the test showed neg but as I talked to the doc, a second line started to show very faintly, then about ten minutes later, it defineately looked like a positive result. How weird, huh? In my experience the tests from the store worked better than at the doctors office.

Unfortunatly the only thing I can think of are Phantom Pregnancy, where you get all the signs becuase you crave a baby but there is no fetus.
I don't believe the 4 mnths for a positive test, you need a certain amount of hormones to sustain a pregnancy otherwise you would miscarry and any pregnancy test will pick them up, unless your less than 1 week late for your peroid.

If the test you took at the doctors was a blood test, then you aren't pregnant. Those horomones show up very soon in blood as opposed to urine tests. At the point where your stomach is getting bigger, if you were pregnant your uterus would also be enlarging. Your doctor would be able to do an internal also and tell you if this was the case, and at that point it would definitely show up on a pregnancy test. I highly doubt you are pregnant.

They could do a sonogram though to see if a baby is there at some point. You have went to a doctor then? Maybe you just don't produce the hormone that the test needs to show or prove that you are pregnant.. it could be you just don't' have it. Not everyone has the same DNA makeup. So that is one option. Also if this keeps growing I would definitely go back to doctor to make sure it's not anything else like a tumor or something. Who knows. Go to the Dr. though.

I really think that your doctor should have told you if there was still a chance of you being pregnant. If you are at the point where your stomach is getting bigger, then you should have had a positive test by now.

If this was a blood test at the doc's office then it would've been positive if you were actually pregnant. Obviously something else is going on - get it check out. Pregnancy symptoms are also symptoms of lots of other issues.

I think the only was to know for sure is to get a blood test. I know people that were 6 months pregnant before they knew. They still had periods and the tests were negative. I would get a blood test just to be sure.

Definately go back to the doctor because if you aren't pregnant than this may be warning signs for diabetes..

It's likely though that your HCG levels weren't up enough to detect pregnancy at that time!

Try a test yourself (they even sell them at the dollar store!) And then go to the doc for a blood test!

Well, i heard pregancy tests are very accurate but not 100%...and this is gonna sound crazy, but my dog gets hormonal pregnancies caused by an imbalance in hormonality,....she acts like preganat and she has all the symptoms but she isnt. Could you be going through the same? The principles acting are esentially the same in dogs and humans....

Good luck!
(i think in any case you have to go to a doctor)
