Average birth weight is 7 lbs 7 oz so 6 lbs is a little on the small side for a full term baby but girls today seem to be popping them out smaller n smakller cos they didnt want to get fat when threy were pregnant by eating more. my son was 9 lbs 5

Sounds about normal to me. The average is 7 pounds but babies are getting bigger in general. My two were around 9 pounds and I'm not overweight.

I think it's a bit low for a newborn baby but nothing to worry about. Usually hear of about 7-8 lbs being usual.
And there is a big difference between 'wait 'and 'weight'. Sorry to be an **** but everyone on here seems to have terrible spelling and grammar.

Dont worry 6 lbs is perfectly normal. I have heard people give birth healthy 5 lb babies too...

Make sure you feed and take care of your baby well and with your nourishment, he will gain weight soon.

my baby was 6lbs 14. and she's perfectly healthy. i think 6 pounds is smaller than average but it depends on your size to. if your small and your partner is the chances are the baby would be smaller

do you mean your baby was born weighing 6lb? if so it is a little under average. My daughter was born at 7lb 8oz and was bang on the average line in her red book.
I was born at 3lb so it depends on the baby and the parents, if the parents are small its likely the baby will be smaller.
