My son's father and I have both agreed on joint custody. I raised my child alone from birth to age 11. His father has now married and has taken him for the remaining years 12 to 18. His father proudly has him in football and believes that a fatherly influence is what a SON needs to be raised as a proper man. My relatives are in an uproar and continue to treat me as if I am a bad mother for allowing this. I don't understand what the problem is - - his father is also his parent and also has a right to be apart of his life. Do you feel that a child should remain with it's mother during separation regardless of the circumstances?

Even before I found out I was pregnant, I have been really really irritable. I seem not to be able to control my anger. I think it is the hormones, but my husband seems to think I am "choosing" to act this way. It is really hard for me to control and having zero sympathy just makes it worse. What should I do? Everything from traffic, to waiting in line, to all the chores that get overlooked, my toddler being difficult seems to push me over the edge. I am not dangerous or violent, but I do lash out verbally and inside can feel annoyance and irritability mounting. What did you do and did this pass with time?

I was catching up with my daughter while she was at school. I noticed in her diary some terrible spelling and grammar. Look at this excerpt:
"I hadd tu get a nuther aborshen from uncel Timathy. this time, my boyfrind, this time he got mad be cas it was my fallt i didnot remend hem tu wer condums. my brothur tuk al min exsep all thim we youst to gathur."

I don't even know what the heck this says! I wonder if it's normal or if anyone else has a 13 year old who is this behind in their english?

looking for a fertility doctor in the Triangle area. Someone close to Southpoint mall would be great.

I am 34, married, never been pregnant before, have been charting temperate everyday since July, and using ovulation tests.

We are very aware of the risk of taking fertility medicine.

My fiance and I have been together for 1 1/2 yrs. We also live together. He has an 8 yr old girl whom I love like my own. SInce day one I have taken an active role in her life. I go to school functions like open house, I help with homework, etc but I also take part in the discipline. Moreso now that we are getting married and I will soon be her stepmom. She and I have a wonderful relationship but I have never and would never try to replace her mother. We have custody of her 3 1/2 days a week. Recently she asked me to sign up to be a room mother for her class because I dont work. Unfortunately I missed the signup because we never got the memo from school telling when it was. Last week her mother called me up screaming and cussing me out about being too active in her daughters life. I tried to explain to her that I'm not just some girlfriend that could be gone any day. My fiance and I are getting married next march. I told her that I am trying to be an active part of her daughters life.

My best friend & I have been friends for 8 yrs. She just turned 21 & I am less than 2 mos. away from turning 21. My boyfriend is 35. She got pregnant when she was 18. When I mentioned that my boyfriend & I wanted to have a baby she told me she didn't think I was mature enough for the responsibilities.

I found out that she had a 41 minute phone conversation with my boyfriend behind my back & told him that I was inmature & he shouldn't be trying to get me pregnant, trying to change his mind.
I have been independent since I was 16 years old. I have held the same job for almost 3 years. I have a brand new house, a new car. I am financially stable. I've never had the responsibility to care for a child, so one would say I am the "wild" type. I'll admit that I love to party/drink. I understand that once I become pregnant, I won't be able to do those things anymore. I just don't understand how I would be considered as inmature? Do you think that I seem mature enough to have a baby

My five year old that is adopted asked last night whos tummy she came out of we tried to explain things to her In a way that a 5 year old could understand did we make a mistake?
when i picked her up from school today her teacher told me she has been telling people that she has a Mother and a momma. And the other kids didnt understand what am I supposed to do??
It was a step parent adoption so her dad is her real father. But coming from the same background and being adopted I thought it would be ok to be honest??

Then why do so many people go up in arms when women ask questions about inducing labour? I can understand that kind of reaction if the woman was premature, or if she was considering drinking cyanide to induce (not that anybody WOULD do that), but it's an innocent question on its own.

I *especially* wonder about the people who are all "OMG!WTF!BBQ! Ur beybee iz gunna DIE if u induce!"
Clearly, people like that don't know what they're talking about, so why do they bother saying anything at all? Why do people give such nasty "advice" on this subject, and then complain when they get negative reviews? A little respect never hurt anyone.

I attended a workshop today at my childrens school. The aim was to equip us with the knowledge of how to deal with a bullying situation, if it were to happen to our children. When leaving, i was handed a leaflet with advice on, which they told me to read through with my son. Well, how glad am i that i read it alone first!? On the section covering 'why are people bullied', this was a way to avoid it....." No1:Try not to get on peoples nerves."
Am i alone in thinking that my child has the right to be himself? Or that the idea of saying this to your child when they reveal they're being bullied, is as bad as saying they deserved it???? Its ridiculous that this is the advice being given out in school and to such young children! Im so mad!
