Go to Walmart you can buy them there. Should be on the shelf with other vitamins. You should make a doctors appt anyway, you'd see your OBGYN. Sometimes you can see your regular doctor if they are are family docor, thats how my first 2 pregnancies were.Normally he/she will ask you if you want a prescription or if you want to buy them at the store. Good Luck!

You CAN go to your regular doctor if your doctor does OB. My doctor is a family doctor (she treats me, my husband and my daughter) and she does OB. The only reason you need an OBGYN in that case is if you become high risk pregnancy. If your doctor does not do OB, then you would need an OBGYN anyways. I would still make an appt with your REGULAR doctor first for the confirmation and then you could get some advice and referrals on who that doctor thinks you should or could see. As for the prenatal vitamins, yes you can buy them over the counter from anywhere really. I get mine from walmart and they are Onesource prenatal (pink label) and are like $5 for two months of pills. I asked the doctor and she said they were just as good as the presciption ones (she recommended the brand she took during her pregnancy). You can email me if you have any questions, I know how scarey the first time around is! lol, and it wasn't long ago for me! GOOD LUCK!

Well about the doctor I would look into finding the best obgyn you hae in your area. Thats what I did. I asked every mother I knew which obgyn do they consider the best in my town. They all had the same answer. I agree. I've lost a few pregnancys and by this one I was concerned with my doctor. Come to find out he's a big ol quack. So picking the right doctor really matters. The dr I had before had a c-section rate of like 9 out of 10. No thank you. I'd rather my dr do whats right for me and my baby instead of what pays him the most. With prenatal vitamins its best to get them from your dr. They gave me special ones this time he told me I had low iron levels so the ones I take give me extra iron. Its ok to take the ones from your Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens up unti you make it to your first appointment. After that take what the doctor prescribes.

Yes you can get good prenatals without a prescription at any drugstore or Wal-mart. You will need to make an appointment with an Obgyn, but your General Practitioner may be able to recommend one if you don't have one already, since he/she will probably know what you are comfortable with. Definitely start taking the vitamins ASAP, they are really important in the first few weeks, but you usually won't be able to get in to see the OB until around 10 weeks as some places won't give you an appointment before then. Congrats and good luck :)

You can get prenatal vitamins at any drugstore or pharmacy or even any store that has a pharmacy in it. Walmart is perfect...so is Target. The vitamins can be found in the same aisle as all the other supplements. I found that certain kinds made me sick, though....so you may have to try a few brands before you find one that works for you. Or...you may get lucky with the first brand you try. Don't be afraid to buy the cheap store brand ones...they are just as good as the more expensive brands.
Go to an OB/GYN as soon as you can. Just for peace of mind, have an exam and it is in the best interest of your unborn baby to have prenatal care during your pregnancy. Good luck to you!!!!

You can buy them almost anywhere, I get mine from drugstore.com and they offer a variety of brands. Some doctors will prescribe them to you at your first appointment when confirming pregnancy. I take them even before trying to get pregnant because the need for folic acid is very important in the first few weeks of development. So if your doctors appt isn't soon then I would go buy some from Walmart or something until you do see your doctor! Congrats and Good Luck!

They sell prenatal pills at Costco too. You can get a huge bottle for around $11.

Don't be afraid to ask your doctor. When I first found out I was pregnant, I went to my primary physician first to confirm. She gave me a urinary pregnancy test and a blood test. Once she confirmed, she gave me a list of OB's to choose from because I didn't have an OB at the time. I had to do a bit of research to find the right OB. I called around to see who had convenient hours for me and I had to determine whether it'd be more convenient to have an OB close to home or close to work. Once I found my OB, she gave me a bag of pamphlets and a couple sample boxes of prenatal pills. I was already taking Primacare prenatal vitamins for over a year before I became pregnant -- they were prescribed by my fertility specialist. Once my prescription ran out, I was taking prenatal vitamins from Costco. Everyone takes to prenatals differently, the ones at Costco didn't agree with me when I had morning sickness. So, I had to ask my OB to prescribe me new ones. Now, I'm very happy with the ones I'm taking. So, don't be afraid to ask. Some women don't even know that they need to take prenatal vitamins.

Congrats & good luck!

They do make over the counter prenatal vitamins. For me, I got sick taking prenatals b/c they are disgusting that I took Flinstone vitamins. My OB told me it was perfectly fine as long as I was getting some vitamins. So really any vitamin is fine. And about a Dr. appointment you need to make one for when you are about 11-13 weeks is when most want tosee you for the first time. Good luck

You can buy them over the counter....Walmart and most drug stores and grocery stores sell them. Or you could go to your doctor and get a prescription for them. This is NOT a stupid question, all you are doing is looking out for the welfare of your unborn child. Prenatal vitamins are very important to take! Good luck!

U need to go see the OBGYN. Your doctor will just make you go see then. Also about the prenatal vitamins you can get them over the counter but I suggest that you actually get a prescribation from the doctor that way you know you r getting the right ones that u need.
