This is just out of curiosity - I have a daughter who is 2 and no intentions of having any more.

The reason I ask is that my old health visitor was quite an abrupt and rude person and I used to dread her visits.. as I was coping well with parenthood and my child was doing fantastic I felt also that here visits were an intrusion and if I had been given a choice I would have much rathered take my wee girl to say a clinic at my Doctor's every so often for her to be checked over instead..which eventually I did do but the home visits were never put as being something I could opt out of.

I get really bad heartburn in my pregancy and I take a prescription and doesn't to work my doctor said to it also with an antiacid I have tried everything over the counter nothing works anyone have ideas? sometimes i can be sitting there at night and it juststarts to explode

I have a 2 1/2 month old daughter at home and I am so desperate. My daughter maybe sleeps like 9 hours out of a whole 24 hour day if I am lucky. I really need help. Like for example last night I gave her final bottle and she fell asleep after eating the whole 7 ounces and so I laid her in her crib, 5 minutes later she was screaming. I tried this 3 times in a row until I was so tired that I just let her sleep with me. Please any advice would be great! Thanks

Difficult to put this delicately - he's been potty trained for well over a year, but in the last two weeks he's "messed" his underwear at preschool twice, and his mother put him in "pull-up" diapers and he continues the same problem at preschool. My daughter needs advice, and the best I could come up with was to check with the doctor to rule out health problems and otherwise, ignore it and just clean him up because he might be looking for attention in a negative manner.

Is it okay to mix rice starch with infant formula? She is only 3 wks old but cannot keep down most formulas and just spits them up alot even from her nose. I started on breast milk but she is now on Enfamil AR Lipil with added rice starch to thicken in the stomach so it can then be digested. The pediatrician knows I have her on it but never expresses much opinion for anything. I reallllllly would much rather breast feed her but would it be okay to mix rice starch in the breast milk? Where could I find it? And would it be okay to just use "rice cereal" instead to mix? Or is she just too young? Only legitimate answers please. I live in a small town and don't know where to find a lactation consultant if one even exists here and probably couldn't pay the fees anyways. And to the lady who works at WIC and answers the Yahoo questions, your input, comments, or opinions would be appreciated but I noticed you have it set up to not receive emails or IMs. Thank you so much.

I don't mean to offend anyone but I am so sick of all the teenage girls asking questions like, "If I did it a week ago..." it's absolutely ridiculous! For one thing, don't have unprotected sex and it won't be a problem, and second, just take a freakin pregnancy test! It really isn't that complicated. Anyone else feel this way, or am I just a grouch?

I am 16 weeks pregnant -- and whenever I sleep on my back for more than a few short minutes, I get UNBEARABLE sharp leg pain and throbbing in my vein in my leg.

Usually the pain is focused right behind my right knee or else higher up on the back of my thigh. Last night I rolled over onto my back while half asleep and it hurt so much!! when I changed positions, my leg throbbed for a long time like the blood had been cut off and my leg felt "restless" after that.

Anyone else experienced this??? At first I thought I had a blood clot or something crazy, but then I noticed it always happens if I try to lay on my back.

I have a 6 Year old who is reluctant to speak. Once we go around other children she can be very quiet for along time, but when she is willing to talk she can be quite mean and bossy. She is usually in a bad mood and never happy. My home is very normal, my husband and I don't argue in front of the kids, and tend to get them involved in lots of activities and things kids like. I have one other kid who is about one year younger who is always in a happy mood, even though my 5 year old lashes out at her for no reason. Is there something wrong with my child please help.

We have 4 kids. For 3 of then school is easy and they are way above grade level. For one of them school is hard. She always has more homwork because she dosen't get it done in class plus she has to study more because she is under grade level. When she has all this work that the rest don't have she gets upset and pretty much shuts down and I get no where with her. I am her stepmom and I am the one that does most of the work with her because she lives with us. Her mom and dad are a little harsh on her brothers grades, and really harsh on her sisters grades, but when they see her grades they say "good thing she's so pretty" oh it makes me so mad. Any way any one got any good ideas on how to help her study without making her feel that she has do do all this extra stuff or like it doesn't matter if she does.

I had a miscarriage June 9th I have been trying to get pregnant every since I got my 1st period since my Doctor said it was ok for me to try again I have not gotten pregnant, and ive been trying for 5 months my biggest fear is that my husband and i never have a baby. We have a couple of outfits that allow us to fold the sleeves over her hands to keep them warm at night. We also keep the heat at 68 degrees at night since the heat is not zoned and heats the whole house at once and it would be really expensive to keep it higher than that. Should we get a space heater of some sort or is that dangerous in her room which is large and has three windows?
