I don't know, but whatever name you do choose, remember that in 30 years time, this 'baby' will be operating in the adult world, so don't go for a cutesy name :)
Personally, I like Matthew as a name, it means Gift of God.

There is no "best" name.
Its whatever you like and think will suit your son throughout his life. And hopefully will reflect his background and heritage and family history
IMHO, there is no such thing as an "old fashioned and stuffy name" - names come and go in popularity and names that were considered really cool 30 years ago are now ridiculously old fashioned. Conversely, names that were "old fashioned and stuffy" 30 years ago are all the rage now. Ignore people who make this argument "Ooh you can't call him that its old fashioned" - they are usually clueless and think only in the short term.
There are, sadly, "chav" names and names that will go in and out of fashion (just think of the names that were cool when we were born and how many people use them now!). These should be avoided
I also hate "cutesy" baby names because they are not going to sound very dignified on a 40 year old man!!!
I personally like traditional, romantic sounding names that aren't being used much.
We chose Arthur for our baby boy - as in "King Arthur" - to reflect his Welsh/English heritage. And because noone else is using it (apart from David Cameron who apparently named his baby boy Arthur earlier this year! Argh! My son will share a name with the Tory Leader's son!)

Just waiting for some celeb to pick up on it and for it to become all the range with the chav set.
I also like:
Ioan (Welsh for John)
Aneurin (Welsh - pronounced An-EYE-rin)
Orlando (BF hated it and veto'd my using this!)
Edward (makes me think of an intelligent, handsome young guy)
Richard (used to love this name till I met my BF's boss - eeek! He's a tosser!)
David (Family name, very nice and "strong" sounding)
Michael (my BF's name, can be shortened to Mikey when he's little)
William (my brother's name - lots of short forms for when he's little, like Will, Billy etc)
Hate trendy names and shortened names or anything copied off a Hollywood celebrity!
