If you really want him to get circumsized then no age is too old, just do it as soon as possible because it only gets more painful and more complicated as he gets older. You also have the option not to circumsize.

You have to wait until your baby is a year and a half old before they will do a circumsion. They place that I called said the the doctor's visit was $300.00 and the surgery is going to cost at least $2000.00 dollars. It doesn't matter what kind of insurance you have they will not cover this(I guess). Anyway, yes you can have your son circumcised when he is older.

In response to the answer about some Jewish faith not circumcising till 16 yrs old, No, No, No.
We have a religious ceremony called a Brit when the baby is 8 days old or healthy enough to handle the procedure. The ceremony included circumcision followed by cheese cake !!
Anyone older than a few months may require anesthesia. Make sure to check with your doctor.
Congrats on your baby.

He is not too old, but doctors no longer recommend circumsion, as it has no health benefits whatsoever, and can make the tip of the penis desensitized, lowering pleasurability from sex. (although thats a long way off) i would think about whether or not you really need to put the poor lad through unnecessary surgery. If it is important to you, or to his father, or medically necessary, then make sure to ask a lot of questions about the procedure and care after to your doctor.

He is reaching that point. It has been found that it really isn't medically necessary. It is a Jewish tradition. Part of their faith. It is extremely painful for a baby as there are a tremendous amount of Dr's that will not use anesthesia on babies for that, in itself, is a great risk. So imagine slicing on your son in a very tender area with out medication, then there will be the pain for days if not weeks later....are you going to drug your son that long? If I had to do it all again, I would not have allowed my son done. All I have told you are things I didn't know......I heard my son's screams thru out the Dr's office when he was at 1 month of age. So unless it's your faith, WHY?

Personally I would rather get the child done once they are born, but I guess you are never too old to be circumsized, cause my uncle is in his 50's and he had to get his done not long ago.

the younger the better- but a boy / man can be circumsized at any age to my knowledge. Check with your local pediatric doctor and find out if they recommend it.

there's no age to be circumsized. He isn't too old yet, it's better to do it now than when he'll be older cuz he'll remember it during all his life
