My labor took 38 hours-16 of it was considered hard labor. When I totolly fell apart, the midwives forced me into the jetted tub. It made the contractions managable again and I made it through without drugs.
Good luck!!!

...I was induced and the contractions werent that bad until my water was broken..then everything went all crazy and I couldnt get comfortable and the pain seemed unbearable unless I was hunched over about 3 pillows..the nurses however wouldnt allow this because the monitors kept coming off..so I was stuck on my back crying..then I noticed the lovely little clock in front of me and listened to the ticking as the time went by...this worked for a little while until they got worse and I strated having horrible back pain then I put in a CD that I knew the words by heart and sang until about 7cm which made the time fly by sooo fast...then i had an epidural which made all the pain go bye-bye...then ended up having a c-section because I was after I had already got to 10cm that the baby was faced the wrong way...

First off good luck ! And if you're opting for a drug free labour, kooto's to you. If you have access to a shower or a bath during labour, the water therapy really feels good. I laboured mostly at home, so took a nice long bath, my husband would pour water on my belly and it felt really good. The water running in the shower at the hospital eased pain as well. Rocking your pelvis back and forth on a birthing stool/exercise ball or if none are available sitting on the toilet and rocking (that's what I did) really helped. Just keep focused and let nature take it's course. Congrats !

I was due four days ago. I asked my doctor the same thing when I saw her yesterday. She said there's not much you can do. But every time you feel a contraction, take a few sips of water. It's important to stay hydrated and it will actually push labor along. Good luck!

My tip is listen to your medical team. They will know if the cord is round the baby's neck. So, when they say don't push. Do not push. You have been through your breathing excercise so just wait for the minute and go with the flow - oh what a joy awaiting. Good luck.

I swore i wouldn't get an epidural
yep, after 24 hours of labor I gave in.
Nothing works well, deep breathing helps and that was about it. Screaming only helped a little :)

Too undesirable you probably did no longer ask this question 2 or 3 months in the past. I eased my hard artwork pains via making use of the Bradley approach. It takes a pair of months of on a regular basis prepare to the best thank you to do it right. What you do is to completely relax each and every muscle on your physique in the time of each and each contraction. My husband took a photo of me in the time of a contraction in transition. It appeared purely like i grew to become into sound asleep.

are you getting an epidural? When you do start to feel contractions I would suggest taking deep breaths. it helped ease my pain up a little bit.

An epidural was the only way I could deal with my labour pains (28 hour labour)
