Mon-Fri and sometimes Satuday I was pretty much always in a day care center or dozens of different babysitters. I was raised by many people accept my own mother who was too busy worrying about her career when she didn't need to work. I wished I could have had somebody more permanent in my life. Not that I am blaming as I am an adult now, but really, why have kids if you are not going to be there for them?

Today I got my 5 year old's report card. She is doing good in most subjects, but I am disturbed that the things marked "not meeting standard" are : Following directions, effort in her studies, sharing and taking turns, overall behavior, positive attitude and listening.
She has a few of these problems at home, but never demonstrated anything other than a normal 5 year old, and when she has had to sit through Sunday School, she never had a problem with listening or effort.
I just paid 3,000.00 in tuition for her to go to a private school. Now I wonder if it were better if I just home schooled her. \
When I asked her if there was a problem at school, she just tells me that she doesnt like it. No reason.
Should I have her suck it up, or should I homeschool her so that her academics are nurtured instead of being pushed aside because of "unsatisfactory behavior"?

My husband and I were only 19 and 20 when we got pregnant with our daughter, and rather than be happy for us, our families were freaking out. Well, now our daughter is 20 months old, and they have seen what good parents we are. We want to start trying for baby #2. This time around we know that we will actually hear things like "congratulations!" rather than "oh no!" so we really want to enjoy it and have fun with it. Any good ideas? My only idea is to make cards with our daughters pic on the front saying "Guess what! I'm going to be a big sister!" and then have a copy of the ultrasound, due date, etc, on the inside. And then we would of course send them out to everybody and wait for all the excited phone calls. Do you think thats a fun idea, or have other good ideas?

I woke up with a rash on Saturday. I am 9 weeks pregnant my skins isn't really sensitive and I don't have any skin allergies that I know of. Some bumps look like I went to bed with a mosquito and the rest is a fine rash. It is on my torso only not on my extremities or face. I called my OB she told me to put benadryl on it and I did it isn't better so I am seeing the doctor tomorrow. I heard that some women get a pregnancy rash. Has anyone heard of it?

...How do I tell my dad (I already told my mom) that I got a C+ on an English project that counted for 40% of my term grade? See, I told my mom, because she wants me to do well in school, but she just wants me to try my best. And I really did try my best. But if I tell my dad, I'll get in huge trouble, and he'll scream and yell at me. What should I do?

I'm 37 weeks 1 day. This is my first child and she is large. At 35 weeks 5 days, she measured 7 lbs, 7 oz. The gestational age is correct. My husband was out of town for 3 months previous to my estimated conception date, and at 5 weeks 5 days I had an ultrasound to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. It showed a 5 to 6 week embryo.

A week ago Monday, I was 0% effaced. On Monday of this week I was 20% effaced, but not dilated at all. Today, only 3 days later, I was 80% effaced and 1cm dilated. I forgot to ask today, but Monday the doctor said he could feel the baby's head when he did my internal exam.

I don't have any strong contractions, but I have cramping and a mild ache in my back that lasts longer than a contraction.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how long were you like this? I know when I go back in on Monday to have another measurement of the baby, my doctor is going to schedule me to be induced, but I'm wondering if I could go into labor on my own before then

I am not overweight, but I really could lose 10-15 lbs and be more fit. My husband and I really want a baby and I can't decide if I should lose the 10-15 lbs first and then try to get pregnant or get pregnant now and not worry about my weight.

Is it a good idea to not lose the 10 lbs because I could lose it if I get morning sickness? I wanted to lose the weight because I don't feel confident with my body since gaining 15 lbs since last year. I was worried it may affect my pregnancy.

I really want to get pregnant, but I don't want to be extremely overweight while pregnant.

My brother has a son and this boy is .... well words are out of reach. He is playing the teachers against my brother and vise versa. He is weeks behind in his homework. He is failing every single class( he is twelve). He has left the house without telling people where he's going or without asking permission. He continuely puts himself in dangerous situations. He was suspended for three days for bringing an object that was considered a weapon to school. My brother is at the end of his rope. He is in constant contact with the teachers and driving his son back up to the school to pick up missed work. He has sat in his son's classes. He needs some help and I want to help him. What kind of resources are there for my brother? Does he have to send this kid to Bootcamp? Isn't there another alternitive? He's doing the counseling thing. It's not much help. I almost afraid this child is going to cause my brother a mental breakdown.

I have a step son of 15 i adoped and raised since he was 9. When his dad is away on business he doesn't listen of me and misbehaives badly, he rebels. What should i do so he will respect my authority ? He was a naughty kid always but from 12 he started to rebel more and since then i let his dad take care of the dicipline part this is why he acts out more when his dad is away. His birth mom died in a car crash when he was 5. We have a great relation as long as i don't tell him off or order him or ground him.

My husband wants another baby in like 3 or 4 years. In three or four years I wanted to go back to school and get a degree, or just work part time, until the kids are out of school. I pull my own weight with the kids, but I'm 20 and I have only had a job working for an automotive business. That's it. I'd like to move into a bigger house later on, and I would work to pay for the mortgage. Another baby would set off the plan. What should I do, He makes good money, but I want to move into a bigger house, and this is our first one. We need the space with two growing children and growing amounts of toys. We can build this house to make it bigger, but I rather move into a wide open neighborhood with a built in park in it. I'm not being selfish, I just want my family to have love and grow in a great enviroment like both of our parents made sure we did. What should I do?

My baby is 9mo, she used to sleep through the night with no problems. Just in the last few weeks, she has started waking up once or twice during the night. But it's not as though she just cries a bit, I can ignore her, and she's falls back to sleep. No. She wakes up screaming, and she stands up in her crib crying until I come to her rescue. I'll take her out, give her a bottle, and rock her back to sleep. I tried giving her a bottle with only water, and that only made her more angry. I tried ignoring her but she just went on crying. How should I handle this situation to avoid creating bad habits?
