Please get him to the doctor right away. An infection can really flare up and get really serious in a reasonably short time. Don't fool around with his throat.

Chances are he'll be fine, and I know it may be awful to tell you horror stories, but a strep throat left to gone wild can turn into rheumatic fever, which can turn into heart problems, which can turn into, sometimes, brain damage.

Also, my twenty-month old nephew was "a little croupy" and sick; and the doctor told his mother to bring him in the following day and just run the steamy shower that night. By seven in the morning he was blue, and that was it. He had an infection which caused his throat to swell and cut off his breathing. He did not survive - and his mother has lived with wishing she had ignored the doctor and brought her baby out to a hospital when he first seemed "just a little croupy".

Also, I had a friend who was 19 and didn't get to a doctor soon enough to treat strep throat. It turned into rheumatic fever, then heart attacks, and eventually brain damage. She lived for 11 years with brain damage before all her health problems overcame her.

Don't fool around with his throat. Just get him to a hospital in whatever way you can. Ask a neighbor for a ride if you have to.

(I thought twice about whether I should tell "horror stories", but I wish someone had told my husband's sister such a horror story before it was too late. Chances are your baby will be fine, but don't take any chances.)

Well with babies that age, if it is Strep...he will be cranky, and also in alot of pain, and will not want to take the bottle. And it has an odor. But it could also be thrush, a small infection from the bottle nipples and pacifiers. Which is harmless and treated w/ antibiotics.

I say thrush as well. Baby's cant get strep throat. At least that is what the doctor told me. Give him some warm juice or some Popsicles. Good luck

Sounds like the baby has Thrush. Let the doctor have a look. Most likely it is from the bottle or breast feeding

That kind of sounds like thrush. It's yeast that builds up and it hurts the baby's throat and tongue. The only thing that I know of to use is this thing called Purple. you can get it at a feed store I think. its for horses but you put one drop on their tongue. Its gets every where but you see it start to get better almost right away.

if your baby had strep throat he/she would be in a lot of pain and cranky but if he is not in pain then maybe he just have thrush. you can treat thrush at home with these purple drops called gentium violet but since you say its his throat than its best he see a doctor

It might be thrush, which is like a yeast infection in the mouth. It can be caused from taking antibiotics. Also, I used to suck on my daughter's pacifier if she dropped it and apparently our saliva can cause the thrush also. He should be fine. If it is thrush, try getting a finger baby brush to spread it in his mouth. The meds are meant to be swished but obviously, he won't understand what you want him to do.
Good luck!!

It COULD BE milk collected (there's a film that forms in everybody's throat who drinks it). Don't do anything until you see doc. Try to keep the little thing as peaceful as possible until then.
