Size has nothing to do with the ability to breastfeed. There are many factors. Don't give up on it though. Just leave your options open just in case, but whatever you do atleast give the baby the collostrum that is before the milk comes in. It is very important for the baby. I wish you luck. I was tiny barely a size A and then at the end when my milk came in I was almost a C. if you really want to breastfeed insist on it. It takes some time for the mil to come in after delivering for some women.

I too am almost flat - the only time I ever had cleavage was when I was breastfeeding!
Babies actually prefer small breasts, as it's easier to get a good mouthful of nipple, and not have to breathe through a noseful of breast. (Yes, they do actually have the ability to drink and breathe at the same time! They suck the nipple halfway down their throat. Ask your doctor/midwife.)
My daughter wouldn't even take expressed milk from a bottle - she wanted breast or nothing! She weaned herself at 16 months, and I went back to my normal shape.
Breast milk is best - always perfectly formulated, always the right temperature, never needs sterilising.

the size of her breasts or nipples has nothing to do with her ability to produce milk. Rarely a woman has certain problems with her breasts, or complications like inverted nipples that can make it more difficult to breast feed, but usually these problems can be fixed with a little more effort on mom's part. As for small breasts, if she is willing to give breast feeding a try, more power to her, her small breasts should not get in the way, literally.

No the breast size means nothing with regards to breast feeding. Actually her breast will most likely get bigger. As long as she has nipples she can breast feed, and for the health of your baby, breast feeding is the best thing your wife could do. Good luck to you both

The size of a woman's breasts is basically based on fatty tissue, which has nothing to do with breastfeeding. The milk ducts inside (the "plumbing" of the breasts) and supply and demand are what determine how she produces. Putting the baby to the breast frequently is what will help her make plenty of milk. Women with all different sizes of breasts nurse successfully. Women with small breasts usually find positioning easier.

Your wife can still breast feed! The SIZE of her breasts has nothing to do with ability. The simple fact that she HAS breasts makes her a candidate! Besides, when her milk comes in, her breast will enlarge. Just remember that they are not only for you!

I have very small breast and was able to breast feed. My milk came through just fine. It does not matter if you have small breasts, they will grow and they will supply milk. I had to stop breast feeding when my daughter was 2 months old b/c I had to go back to work full time. Formula feeding is just as good as breast feeding if not easier.

Breast size has nothing to do with it. I am a lactation consultant and I have seen women balloon from a small A cup to a D cup during pregnancy. There are also large chested women who don't produce enough milk. The answer is you won't know until the time comes.

Breast size has nothing to do with breast feeding, any size breast can be used to breast feed. The only difference between large and small breasts is the amount of fat they have. And breast feeding has nothing to do with the amount of fat in the breast. Breast feeding relies on milk ducts, which every breast has. There is no reason she can not breast feed. Your wife should ask her gyno this question, I'm sure his/her answer will make you less unsure.
