Nope, your cervix will not close back up. I went into preterm at 30 weeks and I dilated to 1 cm, and my doc wanted me on bedrest for the rest of the pregnancy, but I refused, and ended up working limited hours for 6 more weeks. Doc said once I made it to 36 weeks, if I went into labor, they'd deliver. Lo and behold, the day after I hit 36 weeks, my daughter was born. =) And labor was easssyyyyy.

bleeding is only normal after sex if its not heavy and doesn't come with any pain!
once your cervix has started dilating it doesn't close back up, but you can still be 2-3 cm dilated for several weeks yet, so if you get plenty of rest, eat well, do no heavy lifting etc... you still have every chance of carrying to full term!
good luck!
i am due in 10 days

I know this is 5 years too late and not really an answer, but I am in the same boat. I'm a male, 31, and I have a female best friend, 32, with whom I am in love. She. Is. Gorgeous. We've known each other about 2.5 years. She is oblivious to the fact that I have feelings for her. Just today I found myself exceedingly horny for her (more than usual) and imagined us having a quick doggy-style session in her garage! She had on the shortest shorts ever, and the way her shirt accentuated her perfectly-sized perky breasts. I just wanted her so bad.

No the cervix won't close back up. It isn't unusual to be 2-3 cent. dialated for up to 4-6 weeks before delivery. Just take it easy, rest, and do what your dr suggests for you to do. Good luck and I hope that everything goes well for you and your new baby!!! Congrats!!!!

Bleeding is normal as dialation starts, especially if you lose your mucus plug, like I did
