have any of you done this? I personally think it is the silliest thing ever and would never even entertain the idea of doing it, but there is a book out there now and apparently you start holding your newborn over the potty until they go, and then praise them for going to the bathroom (at 2 weeks old) it is supposed to get the baby potty trained right away,

Opinions on this, anyone done it and had good results, anyone think its a crock?

we are expecting our first child feb 3, and i have registered for a set of Avent bottles... some of the mothers looking over my registry are strongly against this brand. i am wanting to find out what others' preferences are and why. should i get more than one brand to try? i plan on breastfeeding until i have to return to work after maternity leave, and then i will pump.

I have the longest list of what I can't eat. I would like specific answers please... not just "fruits and vegetables" or "something from all food groups." I cannot see the doctor to ask for two more weeks and I am VERY hungry. It seems as if I puke up everything I eat except for toast. Please help! Also, what can I drink? And what's the safest thing to sweeten my tea - natural maple syrup or honey? Thank you all so much if you answer!!!

My daughter is 7 months old(she is my first child). When she was 6 months, she used to step holding my hand.Today she started walking - first she made a few steps alone and after that she continued step by step.I've heard that other babies start walking about 11-12 months and I think my daughter is too young. Is it normal?

She is flying with her father to her grandmother's for Thanksgiving. We have never been apart for this long. She rarely sees her father so this all could be very overwhelming to her. I want to prepare her as much as possible before then.

I know that games that a baby enjoys like peek-a-boo help develop certain skills. Exempli gratia, peek-a-boo develops object permanency (that objects will still be there even when you can't see them).

What other games like this can a newborn/infant play that will develop important, fundamental skills?

I ask because my wife is due in February and being the nerd that I am, I want to be equipped with all the good, brain developing skills so he can be the fighter pilot, football player, and network admin that I want him to be!

I think there's a big secret about it that I haven't been told yet, and I really would like to know the truth. Thanks!

Okay what doctor would tell you its okay to smoke pot while pregnant? I dont get that. I smoked pot day in and day out, when i found out i was pregnant i stopped. I havent smoked since the day i found out i was pregnant. 3 weeks ago. Thats just nuts. So yea i miss it but i dont want to harm my baby. So i just typed in pot use during pregnancy and i read all these posts about people smoke pot while pregnant and how their doctors said it was okay if it helped them sleep, eased their pains, or helped them eat. I dont get that. Its illigal i wouldnt even want to admit to my doctor that i have done it before i was pregnant. Cant he call you in on that?!?!? It seems kinda crazy......What would you say to your doctor...I would like mine to know my history of it, and let him know that i no longer do it. But honestly i was doing it all the time and i think he should know....But how do you tell your doctor that without getting into trouble...Seems kinda nuts to me!!!!!

I know that there is alot of controversy about children of donor insemination. About never knowing there father and siblings and such. I never have known my father but am fine with it. I have a mother who loves me with all her heart and thats enough for me. I know that the man who donated, did it becuase he had such a heart that he wanted to help someone who may never be able to have children.

Anyways, how would you of felt if you where able to meet your biological father once you turned 18? You would be able to know about him and have a relationship of you both agreed that would be the best interest.

I have tried teaching her the "Nice....gentle...soft" thing while stroking her own face or mine. But she still goes to her newborn sister and pokes her in the eye, hits her, and even sits on her!

Any ideas?

...did you begin to feel engorged/tender?
My 18 month old stopped last week and although I think that she didn't get that much, I am permanently waiting for the pain to strike.
Did anyone ever stop with no pain?
Could you please share your experiences?
I want to know what kind of things I am going to feel and go through...I am already feeling sad about it and missing her younger days like crazy, I feel sad that my little girl is growing up.
Please tell me what you went through when you stopped breastfeeding so that I know I am not cracking up?
Also, how long did it take to dry up?

I know I have asked similar questions but I see new people on here all the time, I just want to get new opinions and insights.
