That's complete nonsense.Let me tell you a little bit about the castor bean.Castor bean is the primary ingredient in Rycin.Yes,that's a chemical warfare agent.Rycin is the gas that the US government looked for in Iraq, thought would be used in the subways system in NYC by Al Queda and is no longer legal for production in the USA.
Castor oil contains many toxins on it's own.If you asked your OB/GYN they would tell you that it's not safe.Remember your baby gets everything that you do.Consult a professional if you need to induce labor.

Castor Oil For Normal Delivery

If it doesn't help move the baby on you're sure to deliver some EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA!!!! That is what drinking castor oil does. I read about some other people using it and having the worst labor ever because they were having bowel cramps along with the labor pains. It is very hard on your system. I too was late delivering my baby and I wanted to try anything to get him out. There are lots of old wives tales about having sex, running, castor oil, etc but you should beware that the baby will come out when he/she is ready. Don't try and force it. If your doctor thinks it is fine than you should listen. You could cause yourself or the baby harm by trying this. The doctor may have a few suggestions for you. Good luck! He/she will be here sooner than you think!!

I had a friend that used the castor oil method when she was ready to go into labor. She started taking it that morning and by the next day she had the baby!! So I guess you could say it does work! She said that the castor oil was reall nasty though!!

This is basically an old wives tale, but I did use a version of it with my 3rd child & delivered within 8 hours. Mix two tablespoons castor oil and a shot of vodka in a glass of orange juice & drink - pretty nasty but works like a charm - I had a pretty quick and painless delivery - no time to even get an epidural, just make sure since this is your first that you are able to get to the doctor quickly

ok i found this out if you dont know what castor oil is (which i didnt) It is like a laxative and it will make you go to the bathroom alot. But some women say it works and others will tell you it doesnt. And at this point in the pregnacy i would be considering induction. Talk to your dr about oh what my dr did was strech me and that worked i was in labor about 5 hours later. He was suppost to induce at 5am and i bet him to the punch and was in labor and at the hospital by 3am. Talk to your dr about that too cause that was my first baby he did that too and it worked great.

It is not recommended that you use castor oil. It will give you the runs and make you throw up. Most people in the medical profession will tell you not to try it.

Is it safe, probably...might cause diarrhea. Is it true, No.

Castor oil will stimulate the smooth muscles in your intestines to contract. This increased motility will cause diarrhea. It was thought that it would also cause the smooth muscle in your uterus to contract. This has never been proven to work.

If you don't mind running to the bathroom every 10 minutes, but you have to keep yourself hydrated, you can lose a lot of water through diarrhea.

Check with your doctor about that one. There are many things you can do at home to help speed things along. Though, your baby will let you know when he/she is ready. Walking up and down steps. Drinking rasperrry tea, not snapple either can help. Have sex. Got you where you are now. Hot baths and showers. Excercise. I wouln't do castor oil without checking with your doctor.

You know what you can do, ask your Dr to scrape your membranes also know as your cervix. this will cause you to start contracting. I did do caster oil with my first child 6 years ago and I went into labor that following night around 11. with my second i ham my walls scraped at a follow up visit and by that afternoon i was contracting and had my son the next morning 8am
