Sleeping is good for you....if you can, try to nap, nap, nap...then maybe you will have enough energy to spend time with your loved ones during the evenings. Praying for your health and that of your precious gift from God...

Oh my, oh my, how I envy you! I wish I could even ONE decent night's sleep! LOL ;-)
First of all, I wake up like three times a night to pee and it always takes me a long time to get back to sleep. Plus, I wake up at like 4 a.m. every morning and cannot, no matter what I do, get back to sleep for the rest of the night. I just toss and turn and fret. I am worried that lack of sleep will hurt me or the baby.
I figure I get four or five hours per night and that's it. But I think its good to get lots of rest when pregnant, so hang in there. I think in a few weeks you will have more energy. Technically, the first trimester ends at 14 weeks, and they say most women have much much more energy in the second trimester.
Good luck and hope you feel more energetic in a few weeks!!!

I'm 14.5 weeks pregnant and I have those problems a bit too. I get up really early. On some days I can't make it past 8 pm. I think it's normal...even into the 2nd trimester. We tire much easier than when not pregnant. I try to get stuff done in the morning when I am most energetic and alert! Hang in there...you most definitely aren't alone!

it's normal to sleep more your body needs all the extra rest to help the baby grow. you'll get to a stage soon where you'll have more energy and then at the end there is a possibility of not much sleep because the baby moves around too much or your just not comfortable. so enjoy the extra sleep now while you can because once the baby comes you'll be too tired so don't worry sleep as much as you can it will help with the pregnancy.

I am having the same problem. I am 11 weeks and I can't stop sleeping and I have no energy. It is really getting to me and I feel like it should be getting better by now, not worse. It sucks but there are others in the same boat with you!!! Congrats and don't worry, my friend is 20 weeks now and he started getting her energy back around 14 weeks so you are almost there.....:)

Its hardest at the begining. I found that if I took a scheduled 1 or 2 hour nap it helped. Also taking my bre-natal vitamins regularly helped. But with all those hormones your body gets crazy tired. Remember you body is working extreamly hard. It gets better (at least for me) after about 22 weeks.
Take any sleep you can now. My daughter is now 14 months old and I haven't slept very much in that time. Love her to death thought!

We've all been there. During the first trimester sleeping this often is a requirement that your body has. You need this much sleep. While you are sleeping, your body is hard at work growing that new little baby. It will definitely get better once you hit the second trimester.

Don't worry, it's totally normal to sleep a lot during the beginning of your pregnancy.
You'll make up for it all in the last trimester, where you CAN'T sleep because you have to pee all the time and the baby is kicking you all night!

Being really tired is normal in your first/early second trimester. It should get better soon. Sleep as much as you can now. You'll wish you had those days back after the baby comes!
