Pregnancy & Parenting - 27 October 2006

My husband and I are always wanting to go do something fun like play pool or see a movie. The problem is we don't have anyone who is always there for us to babysit. So, I want to know if anyone has any ideas for fun things to do with our toddler, or if anyone knows of places that have nursery's or will watch your child on the weekend for a small fee. There used to be a bowling alley in Evansville, Indiana that had a nursery, but they stopped doing that. So, any information you have would be very beneficial. Thank you.

And how much had you gained by the end of the first trimester? I have gained nearly 7 pounds and am 14 weeks.

I am terrified of gaining too much (my sister gained 75 pounds during her pregnancy)! Any advice for not gaining too much??

Thanks i have 2 kids 6 and 3. but i think i forgot the symptoms. I guess i just want to b pregnant, my husband and i are trying, we had sex on the 15 and 17th and still no period for this month. i usally get my period on the 25th or 26th but i want to wait for the month to b over in order to take the test. Thanks =) what do u think?

It was an unplanned pregnancy and I already have a 1year old. I am quite happy about it, and would definitely not consider abortion, we have enough money(not rich, but enough), and I have lots of love to give. My partner however is not handling it well at all, he goes through phases, like this afternoon he was talking about bunkbeds and saying we should get the baby channels back, but last night he was saying he is scared and he thinks I'll find it hard to cope, basically that he wishes it didnt happen.
Obviously I'm not expecting him to be happy straight away when this is titally out of the blue, but I would like it if he could give me some support and learn to come to terms with it.
How long do you think it will take?

When I take a bath, my 13month old baby son likes to get in the bath with me for a wash, at what age do you think this should stop??

Also, when I`m on the loo, he has to be in there with me, or he`ll scream, as daddy`s out at work during the day, again, when should that stop?

I'm 5 months pregnant, and my b/f of two and a half years just dumped me...he says he doesn't love me anymore...i feel terrible not just for me but for the baby....i know that it can hear already, and i'm afraid it won't recongnize my b/f voice...i really love him with all my heart and i want to know if i should just give up?

My son is 20 months. He walks around hitting everything. My husband has taught him to hit me. Any time my husband is holding my son, he always tells him to "hit momma". my son gets a kick out of this. how can i get him to stop. i have tried popping his hand, and his kiapered butt. what can i do without hurting my son, but to teach him that hitting is wrong.

I have started to feed my 13month old son, some Chicken Nuggets, Potato Alphabet Shapes, and beans, but even though he eats these, sometimes, he eats more when he has his jarred food.

When should i bring him completely off jarred food?

My wife is 12 weeks into her pregnancy. She is starting to have bouts of extreme irrationality, irritation, anger, and violence. It seems as if she is looking to fight with me. She will keep pushing and get more angry the more I try to defuse or resolve the situation. I ask about therapy but she says I just bring it up when she's mad to get out of dealing with her. I want to help my wife calm down and I don't want any more bumps and bruises either.

I feel really scared of the fact that I have to go through labour in 3 months time.. I don't know what my reaction will be the moment when "it's time". Should I undergo epidurals.. these at least will take the pain off my mind! Have anyone tried them?

It's not for me personally, but I am just wondernig since i have read here at Yahoo! answer a lot about this emergency pill which I just came to find out what it really is. I saw in a previous question that it might be likely to still get pregnant even after taking this pill, though.

Last night for homework I had biology. The section I had to read was about pregnancy and abortion. I could NOT believe what I was reading! At first, I was like "Yeah, abortion..who cares.."

I didn't really know if it was wrong or not. Anyway, I read the section on abortion--I could not believe it! Do people even know how those are done?! It completely shocked me. How could people do that to a tiny baby? Did you know that at 3 weeks a fetus already resembles a human and at conception all it's characteristics are already determined? At 3 weeks they can feel pain even!

How can anyone think abortion is right?

lets say you get raped while walking your dog at night, you get pregnant, this is by now way your fault, no way!

2 months later you still have the baby inside you, it is the rapists, the scum of the universe i may add!

now, the baby is 2 months in your belly, most of you would have an abortion, correct?

but let's say you don't, let's say you do the christian thing and say this baby was a blessing from GOD in a bad way, let's say.

okay.

you have the baby at 9 months, perfectly healthy baby girl, let's say

you will obviously not blame the princess for her fathers actions.
you love her, life goes on and you have a beautiful baby, no father around, but now a days woman can take care of themselves, isn't that better than having an abortion ladies?

I recieved a harassment restraining order about 1 month ago, from my ex who is now 2.5 months pregnant with my child. She doesn't want me in her life and even has said she doesn't want child support. We argued alot, over small stuff and I said some mean things as well as she did. We didn't make it as a couple, but I want to show the courts that i'm responsible, and want desperately to be in my child's life, can the harassment order effect visitation and or partial custody of the infant, I realize a baby needs its mom and I just want for now to see my baby regularly(weekends) and enjoy being a father, then eventually gain joint custody. Is this request a realisitic one in the eyes of the court?My ex is fiercly independent and stubborn, I wish me and her could talk but we can't. Another question what would be good steps to take to show the courts I'm a sincere person, and just want to be a great father. I know of things I'm just looking for outsiide advise.Thanks,

Ok I still haven't got my period and I went to the doctors - he wasn't that helpful. I explained my period was 15 days late and said I had taken two tests which came bck negative. He felt my tummy and then said it could be stress why I haven't got it yet. I asked if it was worth me taking a test there but he said they are just the same as the home pregnancy tests and to do another one on Thurs if it still hasn't come.

I haven't yet, I will but I can't keep spending money on these things! How long should I leave it until I go back to the doctors again? I might go to the my local FP clinic as felt that my doctor could have been more helpful.

This is going to sound kinda selfish but i'll ask anyway. I'm 22 and am 37 weeks pregnant. I have graduated from college, have a stable career, and am married. Anyway my step-mom is pregnant with triplets (invetro pregnancy) she is 28 weeks pregnant. When I told my father that i was pregnant he told me he was not happy to be a grandfather (not very good to hear when your 3 months pregnant). It upset me to hear that she got herself pregnant. I feel like she is trying to take attention away from my pregnancy. Has anyone ever had to go through this. Should I tell them how I feel about there pregnancy??
