Depression is a chemical imbalance in your brain. The longer you let the imbalance continue with out medication the longer your suffering will last. The best thing you can do for yourself is to go to the doctor and get depression and anti-anxiety medications. If you are still suffering there are classes you can attend to help you cope. It's a lifetime struggle and eventually time will heal your wounds.

Try getting a therapist, or better yet a close friend that you know you can trust and will listen to you to talk about it with. It sounds like you need someone to listen to you. If you feel depressed about it, I would recommend going to a center for women who have been raped and volunteering there so that you can help others that are in the same predicament as you are. And you must remember that no one blames you an ounce. There are just some sickos in the world that seem to enjoy causing others pain and suffering. I will never understand this. Please cheer up, honey.

I know what you are feeling. It happened to me in 1978 and it took me a while to learn to deal with it.
You should find someone you can trust to talk about it with, preferrably someone who's experienced it as well.
You should also seek spiritual help (a priest, rabbi or other minister) to speak with and pray with.
Time will eventually erase much of the pain, disgust, anger, etc you are feeling. But remember that "IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT!!!"
I have ben blessed b/c my best friend (that GOd has given to me in the last few years) had also been raped so she and I can share our experiences and it makes the healing easier when you don't have to explain everything down to the last detail unless you want to.
I pray to God for your healing.

I am really sorry for what has happened to you. It is great that you stepped out to search for help to continue with your life! You are very brave!
Depending on how you would feel more comfortable/supported, you should look for either a group therapy or a psychologist. Type on a search engine: "women help rape" and the name of the city/town/area where you live, and a couple of places where you can get help will come up.
Good luck!

Let this middle-aged man (me) express how sorry I am that you had to experience that awful thing. Please don't give up on all men. I know some beautiful loving men who would never consider doing such a thing. The man who did this will be required to pay a major price when he appears before God. In the meantime, you need professional help. Can't you find somebody in a church whom you can trust? Tell him/her your problem, and ask them to direct you. If you keep trying; and talking to folks you can trust, eventually you'll find a way to turn this pain over to God. It takes work, but you can do it.

Jackie, it is over - let it go - cry and know that you have been
through a terrible ordeal - everyone would like to hold you and tell you it will be alright! And by golly it will be alright. Shake yourself good and tell yourself I must go on and be strong and do not let this episode in life con troll you. Get with some very dear friends or family and let them cry WITH you. Let it all come out - then get on with your life and live it. No one will live it for you, you got to do that - and your probably have a beautiful life - Lady pick your self up and march on life's parade - and no one will rain on your parade again ! ! !
Go on now and get it done ! Get out there ! And may God Bless!

Oh sweet pea, the others are so right, you need to go and get help. Support groups or church groups are great because they get the focus off you. I know that sounds harsh but you need to help others and it will help you. You will always be effected by your experience but don't allow that "man" (more like animal) to continue to victimize you. You need to choose to have a great and happy life despite that experience.

Believe it or not talkin does not always help.Maybe you should do something like take a road trip with a couple of friends. Or do something you never thought of doing. Clear your head. Running away isnt always the answer but it helps (sometimes)....
