So I've heard that you have to wait until your baby is a year old before you can cut their hair for the first time. Could someone explain why; and how old was your baby before their first hair cut? Thanks

I am the mother of one small child, his dad and I brokeup right before I found out I was pregnant,he lived with some other girl the entire time I was pregnant, was verbally abusive, wasnt there when our son was born, acted really excited when he was born referred to him as "his boy" spent less and less time with him as he got older, hasnt seen him since he was 6 months.Last time I confronted him we got into a heated argument and he said you know you always say our son cant it be a well were not together thing.I havent spoken to him in over 4 months.I am terrified of my son growing up without a father.Any advice? People say I will meet and fall in love with someone who will want to be his father but its hard to find a guy like that and trust them enough.

if you are 3 weeks pregnant, use a medication to kill the fetus but then get pregnant again some months later. it's 20 days old and still there. would the poison thing effect the embryo/fetus now? what do u call it when it's that old anyway?

we have been working on potty training for about a year, my 3 year old son has only in the past 5 months gotten the grasp of it. he goes poo in the potty just fine. but sometimes he'll be doing something and pee in his underwear some, then he'll run off to the potty in a hurry. he seems like he's holding it until he just can't anymore so that he can continue to play, is there a way to help him with this? i've tried talking with him, and it doesn't seem to work. and he still wears diapers to bed becasue he wakes up with his diaper soaked. he stays dry though naps no matter how long they are. and he refuses to wake me up even when he first gets up in the morning. but at night, after putting him to bed, he'll say i gotta go potty after having already just pottied, i can't say no, but all he does is go in the bathroom and play. any advise for anything?

i'm a low income mom who is on as little public assistance as possible. i don't even want to be on this much, but that's neither here nor there. last year i was accepted into the prenursing/certified nurses assistant program at the local tech college. i was trying to get actual training...o my goodness, to get a real job...so that i would not have to spend the rest of my children's childhood on public assistance! because of my son's therapy (he has autism and is in a lot of it) i would have only been able to work part time, which would not have covered daycare for my kids at all, so i called the local dss office to see about abc vouchers, which you can use to help pay for daycare..and i found out that since i was already recieving child support, i didn't qualify, and I couldn't get more cuz i was already over the max! the welfare system sucks because it is designed to keep people in it, even those who want to get out. has anybody else heard of this or had this happen to them?

My sister, her 6 year old daughter and I went to a carnival the other day here in town. Well, my niece had to pee, and she waited until the last moment to tell us. We rushed her to the porto-potties, but there was a long line. Well we got about a quarter of the way through, and my niece was in agony. My sister asked my niece if she wanted to wet herself this one time. She did not hesitate, and my niece lifted her skirt a little, squatted down and peed through her tights and her panties.

Hi, I'm 15 and Friday I went to the docter for acne so they examined me and asked about my period. I said it is irregular because I keep getting it every 16-17 days. They decided to put me on birth control to stabilize my hormones. Do you find this noraml, has it ever happened to you before? I'm not having sexual relations either so don't leave answers that invovle sex. If this has happened to you did you experience any side effects? I'm just curious.

A friend on one of my groups has expressed that she would very much like to have another baby. Her and her husband have been trying to concieve for a while now and their son is 10 months old and nursing. She would like to try using evening primrose capsules to help her concieve but the question is- will this harm her son via the breast milk or harm her milk supply?

I have done a lot of stupid things when I was young (drink, smoke pot, sex before marriage). I am not proud of this, but it is the truth and I do regret it.
My daughter looks up to me and I wonder what I should tell her when she is a teenager? Do I tell her "I NEVER did that stuff and you shouldn't either"? (kind of like a role model approach) or should I be honest and say, "I made a lot of mistakes and I don't want you do do the same" I don't want to risk her using it against me later saying "well you did it when you were young so I will too!"

Anyone have a similar situation?
