I would expect her to hold until it was her turn. If the line was that long meaning it was going to be like 30 minutes I would take her behind a building, but only in extream cases. People say its bad for them to hold it, but a little holding will acually increase their bladdder size. I would never tell a child to wet their pants and I would probable punish her if she did, unless of course she had to hold it hours on end.

omg. Why didn't she help her take her tights and undies off! Poor baby had to walk around the carnival all wet with PEE! How embarrassing for her. At six years old you know that is not cool and what if she had run into friends with her soggy pants. The fact that your niece didn't hesitate means this has happened before.

I'm laughing!! It's such a memorable experience. Holding in your urine when you have to pee, for too long, can be terrible on your bladder. When you gotta go, you gotta go. With children, that is why it's so important to always bring a change of clothes and handi wipes with you. And yes, if it were a situation where there was no where to go, if need be, i would let them wet. I would however, prefer to try to find a sheltered area and have them strip and squat. That way their clothes don't get soiled.

No, I would have taken her behind the porto-potties and let her pull down her tights and panites and let her go that or take her behind a tree or bush and let her go.. You guys should have asked her when you were near a bathroom or about every 30 mins if she had to go so that wouldn't have happened.

I would have taken her to a secluded spot , i never have allowed my children to wet themeselves , i have always found a way to get them to pee somewhere. she could have had her squat and pull down the tights , wow 1 easy step , and i suppose she didn't have a change of clothes , so you went around the carnival with a wet stinky kid gross

No, No no. That's not right. How would you like to walk round in wet pants all day. You should ask to cut in the line. Everybody would understand. Otherwise pull down her pants and go under a tree or something. Think, People THINK!!!

1. Children are innocents. Their communication skills have not developed liked adults, so no harm.
2. In an emergency, etiquette takes a back seat to suffering. Your sister did the most appropriate thing — she at least brought her daughter to the area designated for elimination.
Good Luck and Warm Regards.

My pal's brother wore the pull united statesuntil he develop into around 10 years of age yet he had a clinically determined difficulty that the dr. pronounced he could develop out of, I overlook the call of his subject. He develop into very embarrassed approximately this (the only reason i understand is using the fact I helped sparkling his room one time and located them under his mattress and asked and he felt ashamed). if your son is over 5 years of age, i could seek for a dr's opinion with regard to the incontinence. in any different case, attempt waking him up each and every 2 hours. We try this with memory impaired citizens at our assisted living facility. I understand he's no longer memory impaired despite if this is going to somewhat decrease back on the injuries. in case you arent keen to do this, then i could advise the two the pull united statesor, the pad/blankets that they use for incontinent adults in hosptials. The mattress protector could be much less bothersome for him, despite if this is going to nevertheless saturate his outfits. possibly one time isnt adequate, while you're in ordinary terms toileting him as quickly as at night... possibly each and every 2 hours and then each and each 4, as quickly as you think of you need to aim that long of a time in between potty journeys. stable luck!

Doesn't seem like as big an issue as people are making it out to be.
Sounds like a one time occurance. If the kid most likely isn't going to make it to the restroom, why make them suffer in pain?
There might have been better solution, but there might not have been enough time to think of one.

not if they're old enough to know how to hold it. I've had to go that bad before where I really thought I was going to pee my pants (in traffic and stuff) but I've made it. I would've asked if she could cut in line or something. If you condone that once, then they might think its ok to do that again another time.
