My 4 year old is bossy and rude. She tells you what to say and when to. She is also mean to people, she doesn't care if she hurts someone's feelings, what do I do? I have spanked, time outs and taken ALL her toys away (she will get a garbage bag and throw toys in it, before picking up her room) HELP!

A child (ages 10-14, step btw, thank goodness I don’t have any biological kids) is acting disrespectfully. Giving you the silent treatment b/c you reminded them to make their bed, tries to argue about everything you say, etc. Do you have to continue through out that day to engage their comments/accommodate their requests for other than food/water/safety? Example: After ignoring you when say three times "I need you to start getting ready for bed, OK?" or "Pls go do your home work.” They wait 5+ minutes and say to you” Watch me! I can do a perfect cartwheel!” or ask you “Where is my soccer ball?” What do you say/do? I've bent myself into a pretzel trying to bond with them, spend time with them, etc. Their folks broke up 7 yrs ago before I met their dad. To answerers: If you’re one of those ppl who thinks Step mom = emotional punching bag, giving machine who has no right to expect common decency from step children I don’t need your input/guilt-trips.

I really like this name. I know it doesn't sound girl-ish, but I LOVE Leighton Marie (Lay-tin). So what do you think?

My sister in law just had a boy, and was expecting a girl. Both showers produced all girl stuff. Everything has been washed and ironed preparing for the baby. Now it's not returnable!

Is there anyone who has some suggestions, or maybe same situation but reversed that she could swap with? They don't have alot of money to buy all new stuff.

She needs help fast!

Has anyone here had a tummy tuck after having their babies? If so, are you happy with the results? Anything you regret about the surgery? How much did it cost? How long until you were recovered? Thanks!

Im 35 and my partner is 27. We met at university 4 years ago and adore each other. I have recently found out i am 5 weeks pregnant. The age difference has never bothered either of us before although it seems to have bothered a few other people (his best mate hated me from the word go without even knowing me). Im so happy to be pregnant and it was planned, but im worried about others reactions may cause a problem. has anyone else suffered similar?

What is your standpoint on it? I know that my parents themselves are pretty old fashioned (60 and 57 years old). I am 21, and got married 5 months ago. Me and my husband moved up the wedding by a whole entire year (we decided May 07 but got married this April 06) and my parents filpped out cuz they thought we moved it up cuz I was preggers.

To make a long story short, do you think having a baby out of wedlock is as looked down upon as it used to be, like back when my parents were young.

How do other parents handle their toddler's temper tantrums? My two and a half year old has started having them more frequently and I don't know what to do. She won't respond well to time outs and she has started becoming very difficult if she doesn't get her own way. Thanks.

I was changing my 6 week old's diaper (new parent! YAY!) and he knocked over the baby powder and it got on my shirt. Normally I'd chalk it up to being an accident, but this isn't the first time it's happened. It's like he's doing it on purpose.

Should I spank him now or wait another month or so? He's pretty small and cries really easy but his Grandma says he's smart so I think he might learn his lesson.

I just want to know what you guys think before I tan his hide.

Thanks.

Lets say your daughter is 24, and a recent college graduate. She has yet to find or settle into a career, but she knows what she wants her career to be. She'd like to one day get her Masters, but want's to take a break first. If she came to you, and told you that she was pregnant, would you be upset because she is unmarried, just getting started in life, and doesn't have a career yet? Or, would you be more accepting because at least she has a degree, and is 24 and not 14? How would you feel? What would be the best way for you for your daughter to tell you about this pregnancy? Would you be upset if, out of fear, she told you later rather than sooner?

This is my first pregnancy so I know I worry too much about everything. But everyone is always shocked when I tell them how far along I am because I am barely showing at all. However, some people have said that you don't gain very much weight in your first pregnancy. Should I be worried?

to drink for yourself? because I cannot imagine a parent putting poison inside their child's milk.

anyway, how many of you have done that, put alcohol inside your baby's bottle just so he can get a "nice" nap.

my partner went to his dads house tonight (his parents are seperated) to tell him the good news that I am pregnant. We have been together 4 years, live together and It was planned and we are really excited. However, he has just called me to say that his dad wasn't over the moon and that he wasn't ready to be a grandad yet (hes 55 yrs old). Im sitting here really sad now as i thought he would be pleased for us. Do u think it may be shock? Did anyone else have this reaction to the news? His step-mom was really pleased. Im so disapointed, this is my baby we are talking about!

Hi people - I'm 3 months pregnant and don't know yet if boy or girl. I started looking for names online on various baby name sites, but have not really found real good ones. So I wanted to ask if you know of some cute ones, maybe unique ones, or nice ones just spelled different...? The name lists online are soooo long and you have to go through all weird kind of names, that it just takes forever. I want two first names for the baby, english or/and spanish. Thanx for your help!! :-))
