Hi there!
I think the name is pretty. The only drawback may be she will have to spell it out often when she gives her name out.
All the best!

NO, I'm sorry but that isn't a girl's name. That sounds like a definite boy's name. Some names can go both ways and some boy's name actually sound OK for a girl but Leighton is for a boy and only a boy.
I would try and think of another girl name. There are so many pretty girl's name out there.
Keep looking, and good luck.

Here in the UK there is a town called Leighton Buzzard. There is a Leighton Hall Museum, a Leighton House and a Leighton library....it's not a name I would choose for a child, male or female,....but as others have said...it's your child, call her what you wish.

I think you can find a better name. I like jenny, michelle, but to be honest with you, I think I like those names because I like a couple of girls that had those names, but I agree with you that leighton doesn't sound girlish.

Absolute rubbish, particularly when you think that there are so many beautiful female names that are not used very much, for example, Elise or Laura. Remember that your daughter will have to carry your crap for the rest of her life - give her a name that she can live with.

It doesn't sound right. A perfect name for the person would be whatever goews with your last name .

It sounds like a last name, and that can be confusing for teachers & the like.

It's probably not a good sign that you have to put the phonetic spelling next to it... That might start to annoy her by the time she gets to college.

I like it. Unique.
I always run a name through the how-will-kids-tease-with-it test; only thing that springs up is "latent".
