Constantly tell their kids "if you don't stop I'm going to ....spank.... ground.... time out....." And they never do. They just keep telling them over and over they are going to punish them, but they just let them continue doing what they're not suppose to be doing.

i wonder at what age children can learn to understand and how to deal with offenders and kidnappers? I am thinking around 9 or 7 because the younger they are the better, but not too young. most likely little ones will not take you seriously.

However, i'm not saying i want to blurt out saying evil is coming or anything. but i would teach them how to protect themselves.

Ok, a friend of mine is 16. She's dating this guy and they have been going out for about a month. She likes him a lot and he feels the same way. She asked me what I think of him and I told ehr I think he's a nice guy. He treats her really good. Sounds perfect right? Well, there's a problem that she asked me to help her with and to be honest I have no clue! He's 23. That's a 7 year difference. Now, where she lives it's legal because you only have to be 16 to consent to anything. Is that too much of an age difference??? And if so why is it for her but I know people that are 12 years apart (adults) and together??? I put this in parenting because I want parents advice on it and I'm more likely to get that in parenting.

Say if you had a young teen 13-15 year old daughter or son, they told you they're not a virgin, they drink and smoke. What would be your reaction?

Since we had our son our life changed. he works more and we have no time to enjoy eachother much. When we do go out it is stressful because of the baby. Lately he has begun to ignore the baby and not want to spend any time with him at all. He willl not take his son out for a walk or shoping or anything without me. Is he going through a stage? Does he resent the child in some way? Is this natural? Will it pass?

Should I do something about it? I don't care if she's turns out to be lesbian or not. I just want her to be happy. But I think she might be making a big mistake.

I have a spanish name, Yelixa Emma. It sounds yjelixa. It looks weird but if you hear it said correctly it sounds pretty. and My middle name is American or something. I hate it when people call me Jelixa. It's a little like that but more with a Y. Some people either call me Yelixa, Yeli, Emma, Yelixa Emma, Em, Emy, EVEN Emily. I have lots of names even with my middle name! It's crazy, so what do ya'll think bout' my name.

Ever since my baby was born, O has slept with me or in my arms. Well she is getting too old for that, and I need to train her to have a nap in the afternoon..preferably from 1-3 or 3-4 or 3-5, I have no clue! So today, I put her in bed at 2:30 after feeding her she had fallen asleep, so she slept for 10 min. and then she woke up and cried for 30 min. so i went to the crib and picked her up and put her in her swing, you'd think she'd get tired, and she rocked for another 15 screaming minutes...so in a total she cried 50 min, and she's still wide awake, and has no sign of sleeping. She is watching Oprah in the living room right now, and laying on the floor. How long does it take a baby to stop crying, or cry themselves to sleep? She made no sign of slowing down. and I need to get her into her crib at night too. Any tips or advice from parents who've been through it before?

Our DD is 14 mo and was diagnosed with reflux when she was only a couple of months old. She was on meds and would only sleep in an upright position. She woke every two hours until she was 8 months old. Since 8 months old, she has slept 11 hours most nights. The problem is that she will only sleep in her swing. She cannot stand to be horizontal. So, she's growing out of her swing. I am so afraid to start her on a mattress again. I am a stay at home mom and my husband works 80 hours a week. So, when she doesn't sleep, I don't sleep and I have no one to help me the next day. There have nights that I've tried to tough it out and get her to stay on her mattress, but she is tougher than me. When she is determined, she won't sleep no matter how tired she is if she doesn't like where she is. She has stayed up all night and into the next afternoon before. I cannot be a competent mom if I am up for 36 hours straight. First, we tried to ditch the crib and get her a toddler bed. No go. Any ideas?
