My 20 month old daughter only has one tooth! I've been to a dentist but they have no solutions saying they can't make the teeth come but are sure they can feel them in her mouth. Has any one else faced this problem or have any solutions? She is underweight and I feel she has difficulty chewing all the foods she wants to eat or sees other toddlers eating. There's a lot of food I won't give her because she can't chew though she does pretty good. Any help? Ideas?

My son it 16 months old and he loves to flush the toliet, come in when your going to the potty, and in the bath he says "uh oh" while pointing to his bottom. How do you know if he is ready?
Also is there a book you can recommend to me to use to help him with this?

My son is 13 months old and I am having a hard time getting him to drink enough. He eats solid meals well, but will hardly drink anything. A typical day he will have 2 seven ounce bottles.(we are trying to wean him from the bottle) and will only drink maybe one ounce or two at each meal from a sippy cup. He hates whole milk, and will only drink juice or water from the sippy. The doctor does not want him to have more than a glass of juice a day. It is also a struggle to get him to drink a bottle (always has been) so it isn't like he is attatched to his bottle. Any suggestions to help him drink more? I am worried about him getting dehydrated.

I saw this comment posted by an Athiest. This was an additional comment that this woman posted after she voted for her best answer. I was in shock that someone could devalue human life so much that they would make this refference to abortion.

"Abortion is right by me if I get prego again i'm going to the "Chop Shop" for a third time :-) "

This is very sad to me to see this comment. This person was also really insulting Christians, saying how stupid we are.

I think it is sad that people believe this way, especially parents.

Comments?

My Dr id an ultrasound at 17 weeks and said he was 80% sure he knew the sex but would rather be 90% sure. What do you think it is more likely to be? His machine was not as good as the ones at the ultrasound place.

The suspense is killing me.

I will probably find out next week anyway.

We just moved from another country, 1/2 a day before the start of school. My 6 year old who is usually a social butterfly but is now having great difficulty adjusting and making friends. I thought of throwing a Halloween party for him and inviting his whole class. Most people I know tell me not to bother because it is quite likely that nobody will come, primarily because they don't know him and perhaps they just don't like him. I thought it was a great idea. Any suggestions?

My sister is having this issue with her almost 9 year old. He won't wipe his butt after having a bowel movement. He thinks it's really gross, she's gotten the Kandoo wet wipes to help him get over the cleanliness of it. But he's still petrified to wipe is butt. Any suggestions?

With my first daughter I took her off her bottle at 1 1/2 years and that was easy because she liked her sippy cup. My youngest is ten months and she is showing signs of being very attached to her bottles. She even wakes up in the middle of the night for a bottle still. She likes her sippy cup but prefers a bottle. So, in other parents experience when is a good age to take bottles away? When did you do it? How hard is it with a baby who is attached to the bottle like a pacifier?

My oldest daughter who is three years old has gotten into a bad habbit of being in the fridge all the time. She has started to feel the need to eat something all the time. I am constantly taking food from her and putting it back. I wasn't paying attention yesterday and she ate four yogurts. Would it be okay to lock up the fridge so I can control her eating? She is the perfect size for her age and it would break my heart if she learned to overeat so early and become overweight. I know how hard it is on kids being overweight, I was an overweight kid. I haven't brought it to her attention that if she eats too much she'll get big. I was hoping I could just stop the habbit by not allowing her access to the fridge. Is this okay or is there a better way?

I have asked why a 14 year old should be given a cell phone. These are the answers I'm hearing:

1. In case they are kidnapped: why is a 14-year-old anywhere alone to get kidnapped? If they go from school to the bus to home, or to school activities with a teacher present, or to a friend's house with a responsible adult present, when are they alone??

2. They should have to pay for it: Where is a 14 year old CHILD getting $50 a month? She sure isn't working a job, because I never have known a 14yo who could work a job and still bring home A's.

3. In case their car breaks down: A 14yo has a car??

4. Get them their own phone line at home instead: Um. No. Children don't have phones.

Wow, I have so many questions tonight, and this is the only place I can get quick answers. lol Anyway, if you found out that you and your bf/gf were expecting a baby, and the two of you had discussed marriage, but were not ready to make that step before you found out about the baby, would you consider eloping soon after you found out, and before any of your family or friends found out? Would you consider this to be a responsible and mature thing to do for the sake of your child and their future? From the views of the parent: would most parents applaud their child's decision to have a quick marriage, and then announce that they are both pregnant and married? OR do most parent's feel that it would be better if their child let them know beforehand?

and you go to change their diaper and see they have a rash, but the mom only brought diapers and left no other instruction, would you just clean the baby, change the diaper? Or, apply a barrier cream or powder? I keep A&D, Johnsons medicated powder, Desitin, and Dr.Smiths ointments for my baby girl. She tolerates them all well, and they all work for her. Which one would be the least likey to irritate this kid? I used a sparing sprinkle of powder on him, because I was afraid of using a cream. But he needs something BAD better than that. I tried to call the mom, but the cell is off.

My doctor set my induction date because I am overdue. He told me to come in on Sunday evening at 6pm and they are going to use cytotech to "ready my cervix" and another dose at 10pm. Then I will stay overnight and if I don't start laboring they will start pitocin at 6am.
I didn't know much about induction because my first came naturally so I agreed with the doctor and he made the appointment.
Anyways, I decided to do some research on the internet about cytotech. All I could find were bad things about it, like it is not approved for labor induction by the FDA, and bad experiences from other women. What should I do? Does anyone else have any experience with cytotech? Should I just trust my doctor because he is my doctor or should I just refuse it? What would you do?
Also what should I expect to happen if I recieve the dose of Cytotech?
