Pregnancy & Parenting - 18 September 2006

I am currently 17 weeks. My son is 12 months and still nurses for bed, comfort and naps. He has slowed down alittle but I'm not pushing the issue as I planned to Breastfeed for 2 years anyway. I know to feed the new baby first when he/she comes for the first bit until the milk comes in but other than that has anyone come upon issues with it? I'm expecting him to want to nurse more out of jelousy. Also I know he may stop when it turns to colustrom soon as the taste may change, how did you deal with starting up nursing again? Did your child start nursing again?

Also I will be continuing to breastfeed. It is best, there is nutritional value. I dont need people telling me crap about that. I dont care. I am looking for advice on what is to come not opinions on my parenting style. Thank you.

I have heard so many different answers about howlong a sperm can live inside the uterus. And I have read some different answers online also. Which is it 3-5 days or up to a week?

I have had three kids and am forty weeks preggo with my fourth. I had to be induced for labor with my first three at 42 weeks and it looks as though I'll have to be induced AGAIN. I am already dilated to three centimeters and 25% effaced and it has been like that for two weeks...do you think my body just is incapable of spontaneous natural labor? Please help!!!

My daughter just found out she is expecting. She has had some problems with cramping and spoting. went too the Dr. and she was told since her blood type is O- that if the baby's blood is the opposite this could be why she is having some of these problems she was put on bed rest and they gave her a shot for the baby said this would help I was wondering if any one else ever had this problem cause of their blood type or heard of this

The nurse at the hospital showed me how to breastfeed but I am stil having trouble with it. I have tried over 40 times but my little girl cant latch on. Im afrad that she will die if she doesn't get anything. Any tips??????????

I have noticed that my basal temp has been up and down today. My ovulation ranged anywhere from the 14th through today. Early it was 99.2 and now it was 97.4 is this normal? My normal temp is always around 98.6 when I am not ovulating.

Ok, I'm 16 and about 4 months ago I thought I was pregnant. Then about every month since then I thought I was But I kept getting my period. Now, my mom doesn't know I'm sexually active so this could be a problem. But she also told me that women can get their period while they're pregnant!!! Is this possible or is this just a mom trying to get a daughter to confess to something they know about??? I'm really scared because me and my boyfriend (who would be the baby's dad) are fighting right now. I don't know what to do and I'm completely scared. Can I really be pregnant and still have my period??? The past four months it's been irregular too... Shorter and lighter but never the same!!! Help me PLEASE!!!!

My son is in the 5th grade. He is ADHD, and is taking meds. It takes him from the time he walks in the door until I just give up and make him go to bed around 9:30/10pm...I know he CAN do it quickly...he has proven that every wed. for church...if homework is not done you can't go...never fails on a wed night home is hassle free. When asked "what would you LOVE to do when you come home from school?" he says "go outside" I say if you hurry up, you can...does that help...NOOOO! It's not like I can sit beside him all day..I have a 7 yr and a 4month old..and I have DINNER to cook...tonight was the limit...I have to do something. He came home having to COPY his spelling words, vocabulary words, a math sheet and had to read a small reading story and read his AR book which is an 80 SMALL page book...Just on the written work it took him from 3:30-7pm to complete...I have him right there where I can see him..having to watch him, tell him eyes on paper, leave that alone, finish ur homework

My daughter is almost 4 months old and has been eating baby cereal from a spoon. I dont plan to anytime soon, but was wondering when is the earliest I can safely introduce all the fun foods like peas,carrots, sweet potatoes and such from a jar to her? And which ones are the best to start off with?

My newborn is 8 weeks old and everytime I take her out of the house (outside, my parents, or out to eat) she cries frantically! I try to introduce things to her that she is comfortable with at home, such as holding her closely, putting her in her swing, and even breastfeeding... she does not care. She does not want to be out of the house. If she falls asleep, she wakes up and realizes that it is a completely different environment, so she starts crying again.
Should I keep her at home and comfortable, to let her realize that the world is a safe place, by keeping things predictable (babies love repitition), or should I try to get her used to being out of the house? What if she has to be babysat in a different environment, or if I just want to get out of the house with her?
Does anyone have any suggestions? Don't get me wrong, my daughter is a complete sweetie pie. :)

i dont think it is apporpriate... shorts are ok... but there is no reason for these little girls going out with their sofies rolled all the way up and a little cami... i work in a clothing store and their are always 12 year old girls in the store complaining b/c the shorts they are trying one are not short or tight enough for them... so their mother brings them a size smaller... i guess these are the same moms who will be suprised when their daughters come home 15 and pregnant... its not that i believe that girls should be completely covered up but i do believe that little girls shoulddress like little girls and even though they are in middle school 12 is still a little girl and they dont have any business showing off their bodies...

I will be 7 wks on the 20th of this month and my stomach looks larger than usual for a 7thwk pregnacy, could I be further along? Also my stomach is itching and has been for 3-4 wks, what could this be attributed to? I don't think stretching of the stomach causes itching this early in pregnancy. could it be i'm having twins which would cause my stomach to stretch and itch sooner also looking bigger sooner?

I would like some serious answers on what to feed my 13 month old. She only has two teeth so she cannot really chew well yet. She also gags on third foods with meat. I think its a texture thing.
She likes cereal, and super soft green beans, carrots, apples & pears. She likes noodles but she doesn't swallow them she just cannot seem to gum them well enought yet, I have tried peas but she cannot chew through the skins, I have tried giving her finely cut up chicken, pork, ground beef and she just does not seem to chew them well enough, she will still have the pieces in her mouth a half an hour later and I get very concerned about her chocking because of it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Yesterday I began to spot some brown discharge (along with cramping, not severe). Today it turned a pinkish color. I went to the dr, and there is a heartbeat 171 bpm, the crown rump length measures at 15.7. I am about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant.

2 years ago I had a miscarriage very similar to what I am experiencing. It began with brown, pink then I went to dr, saw a heartbeat, two days later began to misscary. I feel as if I am experiencing deja vu. Can anyone relate to this? Is this normal? And are my measurments and heartrate good for how far along I am?

ok, i've been using fertilityfriend.com. My cervix is high and firm, my cervical fluid is sticky, I'm having menstrual cramps, PMS. I'm due for my shot of Depo(NOT GETTING) Sept 26. Could I be experiencing these things from Depo?? Also my chart shows that I ovulated 2 x's this mnth. Any suggestions???? TTC FOR 1 mnth
