I wouldn't even try.
Everyone knows if you tell a child to stop doing something, they will do it even more.
Luckily a child will grow out of laughing at bodily functions.

Everyone laughs at bodily functions now and then!! He's a kid!! Seriously tell him it's not polite to laugh at bodily functions....not out loud at least!

You can't! HAHAH
I'm FAR (oh so very far) from being a child and when my mate 'cuts the cheese' I laugh, and I laugh HARD! Bodily functions can 'sound' retarded, and I think every one knows it.
In a way it's like masturbation.... we all know it's funny, but no one ever talks about it.

Is it that serious? Kids are just like that. Anyway, think like the child and laugh at him / her just as he/she doing those bodily functions (kids stuff)

I have four children & a husband.
They all laugh at all bodily functions, no matter how hard I try to get them to stop, it dosen't work.
I have given up & now ignore the situation.
Good Luck.

I let my children know its inapropriate. I do not react to a bodily function other then to make sure they have say "excuse me" if it was loud enough for people to hear. Some kids will continue to laugh.

Just ignore it. Kids find that stuff funny.

You could some time just comment that you don't think its funny, and he'll probably try to curb some of his response to this stuff when you're around. By telling him at least you're sending the message that going wild with too much body-function humor isn't always appropriate, which may let him know he shouldn't "get something going" on purpose just because its fun for him. You may just have to accept the giggle he can't control at times.

Other than that, you just have to wait and see if he grows out of it. It isn't reasonable to expect him to not find something funny when, in fact, he just does.

What's not funny about bodily functions?

well earlier today i saw a question about how to stop your cat from doing something. the popular answer was to squirt him with a water gun he will stop. maybe that will work?

my cousin has the same problem with her children. she stopped paying them attention when they laughed about bodily functions. After noticing that it caused no reaction from her, they stopped doing it.

Forget about it! It happens alot here in my house! My youngest is a walking gas machine I swear! She lets one fly the whole house is in stitches. Honestly when your in public teach your child to say excuse me! At home is a different story! Good Luck there!!
There is nothing funny about burping! Geesh we used to have farting contests as kids(my brother and 4 sisters and myself). It was even funnier yet when the 5 girls would out do the boy in the family....lol!! Relax! He is a kid and let him live life!!
