I have noticed that my basal temp has been up and down today. My ovulation ranged anywhere from the 14th through today. Early it was 99.2 and now it was 97.4 is this normal? My normal temp is always around 98.6 when I am not ovulating.

basal temps are meant only to be taken once a day, before you get up or do anything else that might affect your temperature. Everything you do while waking such as eat, drink, etc. will cause you to have variying temps.

When you are doing basal body temping you need to take your temp first thing in the morning, at the same time each day, before you get out of bed. That is the temp you record. Try going to Fertilityfriend.com, it is a wonderful website I use to help with bbt charting. It will automatically graph your temps for you, record your ovulation and tell you when, record implantation bleeding if you conceive, record all other signs. Best of all...It's FREE!
