Yesterday I began to spot some brown discharge (along with cramping, not severe). Today it turned a pinkish color. I went to the dr, and there is a heartbeat 171 bpm, the crown rump length measures at 15.7. I am about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant.

2 years ago I had a miscarriage very similar to what I am experiencing. It began with brown, pink then I went to dr, saw a heartbeat, two days later began to misscary. I feel as if I am experiencing deja vu. Can anyone relate to this? Is this normal? And are my measurments and heartrate good for how far along I am?

All of this is very scary, but you can ask your doctor to do a qualatative HCG and do them every day or two. If the pregnancy hormone HCG keeps going up,up,up then you are not miscarrying. Spotting this early can be normal especially if it is when your period would have been due if you had still been having them. The women that said to induce is crazy, why would you want to induce a 9 week fetus when you want to stay pregnant?? That advice is for someone overdue who needs to deliver already for a variety of reasons. Good luck. Same thing happened to me along with other bad pregnancy stuff but I am fine and so is my 18 yr old college freshman. XOXOXO

The BPM is great! Nice and high. The ultra sound should have shown if there were any bleeds or anything like that. Sex can cause you to spot. Just take it easy for now. I have had losses too, so I know how stressed you are right now. Have you had your hormone levels checked? I had low progesterone that was causing me to MC. The placenta dosnt fully take over until12-14 weeks your body has to produce the progesterone or you misscary. Its a simple blood test to check then a pill or supostiory until 14-16 weeks. Its a fairly common occurance. Good luck, Hope you have a happy and healty 40 weeks

Sorry to hear that you are bleeding at the early stage of pregnacy, since you still can get baby's heartbeat, then it should be fine, I know some women spot a little at very early stage, they end up doing just fine as those who don't .But still you have to be very careful, try bed rest as much as possible, would you?since you have the histroy of miscarrage, if you are still worried, why don't you try another OB dr. and check your HCG level to find out if your hormone is high enough for this pregnacy to last?
I had 3 miscarriages before, I was also bleeding at week 5-7, unfortunately, I didn't get to keep them, however, at the fourth time, I was lucky enough to have a baby girl, good luck to you!!

If you are having brown and pink discharge that is not good at all.You need to discuss this with your doc. You also might have an infection of some sort. Some people do have spotting at there eight month. You might be getting to loose you mucous plug.

That is really sad. You maybe having another misscarriage or it could be nothing. The frustrating thing is that the doc can't do a thing to help this early in pregnancy. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

If you are this concerned & your doctor knows of the other miscarriage you two should discuss inducing labor.Be very firm about it.If he doesnt listen and you do miscarry...sue the f+++ out of him.second opinion could be good too if you dont want to take the risk of waiting.

the first trimester is the most dangerous, but spoting isn't so bad as long as you're not bleeding, I spoted with my first pregnancy and baby was ok...but also know what you mean about being afraid of having an other misscarriage, I had three after my first baby...Good luck!!
