It means that they are pushing correctly. You are suppose to push the same way you do when you poop. That's why the doctors and nurses don't mind and kind of want that to happen. The poop doesn't just sit on the table. They clean it up so quick while you are pushing that you don't even notice that you are pooping.

I never got the feeling of needing to poop, and I never did. Everyone told me it would happen..but it didn't. But then again, I only pushed for 17 min before my baby came out..maybe you gotta push longer.

Don't worry, that just means that you are using the right muscles to deliver the baby with. I did it all three times with my kids and I would have never known the difference if I didn't realize that I was doing it. The hospital staff cleaned up very quickly and said nothing to me about it.

there is no specific reason WHY they poo while in labour. They just need to go to the toilet! Emptying your bladder and rectum before the contractions get worse can help, but it cant be guarateed every single time that u might not have to go again....Years ago they used to give women enema's before giving birth...no thanks. I'll just take a bog before hand :P

because you push so much and so hard almost everyone does it when giving birth it's normal and that's why they put a bucket on the floor under you because they exspect it to happen. It means your normal.

Means they are normal. All women have a bowel movement during labor unless they take the enema.
