Not necessarily, it could go in the toilet. Not trying to be funny, just stating a fact. And you might not lose it at all until it's time to give birth.
I went for my checkup & the doctor said mine was "just hanging" and that I was dilated & she sent me on to the hospital.

It is possible that you might not lose it until after you get to the hospital. You can also lose it up tp two weeks prior to delivery. With my 1st, I noticed, but was not sure because it was not the "big blob of snot" they described, but only a little bit. With my daughter I lost it a little bit at a time for about three days and then lost the "big blob of snot" in the hopital a couple of hours before I delivered. Every pregnancy is different, but you will most likely notice at least some slimey discharge before delivery. Just not necessarily a large amount.

I have been dropped since 32 weeks and lost my mucus plug yesterday morning.. (I am now 39 weeks) so that doesn't really mean you will loose it soon.
When you do loose it, you will know, unless it goes in the toliet and you miss it. But it looks like uncooked egg whites and sometimes it is a little bloody.. It will definately get an "ewww gross" out of you!

You've got almost another two months to go ... it's going to seem like years. The last trimester takes the longest!

I never "lost" my mucus plug, in neither of my two (full-term) pregnancies.

During my first labor & delivery (30 years ago), the midwife reached in and pulled out a handful of greyish-greenish slimy stuff. Only a few drops of water came out. I gave birth immediately afterward (my boy was born with a caul) and went home six hours later. I had to stay that long because it was their rule.

During my second labor & delivery (ten years ago), I arrived at the midwife's office, went directly to the restroom, and sat on the toilet where my water broke. That is where I lost my mucus plug. I immediately gave birth and went home three hours later. Then I did laundry and, the next day, walked to the store, where I filled up my water jugs at the dispensing machine and then walked home.

YOU WILL KNOW WHEN YOU LOSE IT!!
I had to use caps to be sure you read this. You will know, I thought I did the morning before I had my baby...I told the nurses I had a bit of discharge with blood (blood tinged mucous), and that might have been a bit..but after I was admitted, one nurse did a realllllly reallllly rough internal exam and loosened it, when I sat on the toilet and watched this mother come out, I KNEW! lol
You'll know, it's not just a little discharge, it's a thick wad of it. Yuck.
Hope this helps!
Congrats on the new bebe, and good luck! :)

Women do not lose their mucus plugs until they are really dilating. It looks like a big gob of bloody snot. Many times you lose it and don't know it. (in the shower and such) but to lose it you will be well on your way to being in labor. So... it will not happen at 33 weeks unless you are going to have a premature baby.

You might if it happens before labor. I knew because it looked like someone blew a GIANT booger into my undies. Sorry for the TMI! If its streaked with blood that can mean labor is aproching but sadly not nessarally. I lost mine at 32 weeks or close to it. Good luck the waiting sucks right now!

You will know if you lose it, it does not necessarily come out all at once. This may sound disgusting but it is the only way I know how to describe it...When you wipe you will see what looks like boogers(eewww sorry)on the toilet paper...it can go on for a few days or come out all at once. Good luck.

I noticed because it looked like my vagina blew it's nose but that is impossible so it had to be my mucus plug. You may lose it all at once or little by little and you may see some blood that can be brown, red or pink don't freak it's normal.

You will definitely know it when you see it. It's a big blob of gooey, sticky, snotty, phlegmy oooze. LOL Sometimes it's clearish-white, sometimes yellowish, and sometimes tinged with blood. You can lose it all at once, or if you're dilating slowly, you can lose it in pieces. Regardless of whether it's whole or in pieces, it's unmistakeable. It's v v v v sticky.

As for when you will deliver--that's anybody's guess.
